A Girl Who Doesn't Believe in Humans - Chapter 26 - Cherry
Chapter 26 – Cherry
During lunchtime, just as Qing Yue was about to enjoy her fried rice, someone once again came uninvited.
“After school, meet up with me immediately! We’ll proceed according to the plan!”
A certain tomboy clenched her small fist and said matter-of-factly.
“?”
Qing Yue tilted her head.
“Don’t you remember?!”
Han Quan asked incredulously.
“What?”
“It’s the plan we agreed on—following Cherry and that despicable scumbag together!”
Han Quan wore a look of ‘How could you forget that?’
“When did we agree on that?”
Qing Yue had absolutely no recollection.
“Last time when we were having a meal. You didn’t object to my plan back then, right?”
“…”
(I just didn’t feel like talking at that time…)
Qing Yue was a bit speechless, but she didn’t want to continue entangling herself in this matter. The tomboy in front of her was too persistent, and attempting to convince her with words seemed futile. Therefore, Qing Yue decided to slip away immediately after school.
Seeing Qing Yue not saying anything, Han Quan assumed she agreed. She then dragged Qing Yue into a vigorous criticism session against the imagined scumbag. But since she was the only one speaking, she found it a bit boring, so she brought up various miscellaneous topics.
“Qing Yue, let me tell you! That wicked woman, Snow Qing, is truly despicable! She actually coaxed me into taking…taking those kinds of photos!! I didn’t know if my brain was short-circuited or something, but I actually believed her nonsense. That’s truly an indelible stain on my life!! Damn!!”
As she reminisced, Han Quan’s little head began to emit smoke.
“Isn’t that quite good? You got to take photos for free.”
Qing Yue said indifferently.
“H-How could that be good?! Th-Those explicit things!”
Her speech became somewhat incoherent.
“It’s all because of that damn Snow Qing! Damn!”
Han Quan imagined the fried rice in Qing Yue’s lunch plate as Snow Qing and fiercely took a bite. As a result, her face turned even redder.
“Cough cough…! Water, water…!”
Han Quan naturally grabbed Qing Yue’s water cup.
“If you hate it so much… why not just burn those photos? After all, only the two of you have copies, right?”
Qing Yue looked at her mischievously.
“Don’t tell me… you secretly kept those things?”
“Pfft—! H-How is that possible?!!”
Han Quan was shocked by Qing Yue’s words and ended up spraying water.
Luckily, Qing Yue was prepared and quietly moved her lunch plate to the side.
“I d-definitely burned them all! Th-That’s obvious, isn’t it?!!”
“That should settle it, right? What else is there to fuss about?”
Resting her small chin on her hand, Qing Yue looked at her with playful eyes.
For a moment, Han Quan was caught off guard by her words, and steam escaped from her choked throat.
…
…
After school, as soon as the bell rang, Qing Yue immediately picked up her backpack.
Dong.
The back door of the classroom opened—
She was still a step too late; Han Quan had already blocked her at the door!
Qing Yue pretended to act casually and turned towards the main entrance—
“Hurry up, or we won’t know where they’ve gone!”
Without a second word, Han Quan grabbed her.
Qing Yue missed the chance to escape.
Hand in hand, they ran down the corridor—one in front and one behind. Well, to be more accurate, Qing Yue was almost like a fish caught in Han Quan’s net.
Students along the way cast surprised glances, and the distant calls from teachers to stop running in the hallway gradually faded…
The distance between their school and Cherry’s wasn’t too far, perhaps a little over ten minutes on foot. However, in the ten-plus minutes after school, many things could change, and it might even be enough time for a couple to complete certain indescribable activities.
Han Quan dragged Qing Yue, taking a shortcut and directly crossing the park’s green lawn.
“Hey… slow down, can you? My health isn’t that great, cough, cough.”
Qing Yue pretended to cough twice.
“How about you go on your own first? I’ll catch up later, really.”
“If it were someone else, they might have been fooled by you, but I’ve known for a long time that you usually fake being sick!”
Han Quan continued to accelerate.
“It’s too far… we won’t catch up. I’ll follow you a bit later, for real.”
“Hmph, I have my own plan.”
But Han Quan was very confident.
“Even if you catch up, what’s the use? Those two are naturally a perfect match; it’s their turn—”
“We’re here! Shh… be quiet.”
Han Quan squatted down in front of the green bushes, then pressed down on Qing Yue’s head as they both hid behind the bushes.
(What’s going on?)
Qing Yue patted her head and straightened her disheveled hair.
At this moment, on the bench on the other side of the bushes, there sat a “couple.”
Han Quan stealthily peeked her small head from behind the bushes, eyes burning as she stared at the two. It seemed she had known about these two’s schedule in advance.
(Sigh…)
Already on the pirate ship, Qing Yue could only follow Han Quan all the way into the unknown. She also discreetly raised her head and looked at the two people sitting on the bench, their backs facing them.
At this moment, the two were intimately conversing with their heads turned to the side, allowing Qing Yue to see their profiles clearly—the two in front of her did indeed match the description of a perfect couple.
The person on the left is Cherry in her human form, with long black hair that extends past her shoulders. On the right, a cute hairpin holds back the soft and lovely face beneath the bangs. She wears the school’s sailor uniform, and beneath the ordinary attire, her youthful curves subtly emerge, giving off an impression of innocence and charm.
The boy opposite her is presumably Cherry’s “boyfriend,” with smooth, golden hair and handsome features. As he speaks, his mouth curves slightly upward, and his eyes reveal extraordinary confidence. Clad in a male uniform, his figure is slender and erect. However, the slightly raised chest and the glimpse of snow-white skin at the collar indicate one fact—
(That “boy”… No, isn’t this blatantly a cross-dressing beauty?!)
Qing Yue looked at Han Quan, who was shrinking her head to the side, with black lines all over her head.
(Is she really not seeing this?)
However, Han Quan, who was fully concentrated, didn’t notice Qing Yue’s gaze.
(Sigh…)
Qing Yue was too lazy to remind her and turned her attention back to the bench.
Qing Yue felt that the cross-dressing beauty seemed somewhat familiar from a game in her past life, but now, she had no recollection—indeed, all thanks to her total war against her memories.
From her position, Qing Yue couldn’t hear what the two were talking about, but observing their cheerful conversation, it seemed to be a pleasant one.
“Ugh…!”
Han Quan gritted her teeth beside her.
“So… why are we here? We can’t hear what they’re saying.”
Qing Yue felt there were quite a few buzzing mosquitoes around, but luckily, her half-yokai physique could repel insects. Han Quan wasn’t so fortunate.
“Tsk! We need to watch that scumbag to prevent him from doing something inappropriate to Cherry!”
Han Quan flicked away the annoying mosquitoes with her small hand.
“They’re just having a normal conversation, aren’t they?”
Qing Yue rolled her eyes.
“What do you understand? Once you let your guard down, that filthy man will extend his claws to Cherry!”
Han Quan raised her small paw seriously, scaring Qing Yue.
But this brought a disdainful look from Qing Yue.
“Ah, right…”
As time passed, the two being observed chatted more happily. The “boy” seemed to say something interesting, making Cherry cover her mouth and giggle.
“Tsk!”
Han Quan’s hand unconsciously broke a branch in front.
At this moment, Qing Yue noticed that the corner of the cross-dressing beauty’s eyes seemed to glance in their direction. However, when she looked again, the two were chatting and laughing as usual. It seemed like he hadn’t noticed anything.
On the other side, Han Quan was still venting her anger on the bushes and didn’t pay attention to these details.
Suddenly, the “boy” leaned gently towards Cherry, and his side almost touched her cheek.
Cherry’s expression became somewhat surprised and nervous, but she still allowed him to approach. The bridge of the “boy’s” nose touched the tips of Cherry’s earlobe-length hair. The faint fragrance from Cherry’s body wafted into his nose. Then, his warm breath, accompanied by a magnetic voice, penetrated Cherry’s eardrums.
He seemed to whisper something to Cherry.
Cherry’s originally tense and curled-up body suddenly relaxed. Her small mouth slightly opened, seemingly surprised by the information he shared. The corner of her eye unconsciously shifted, but with a reminder from the “boy,” her eyes quickly returned, and then she smiled happily.
Seeing the two intimately whispering, Han Quan’s anger gauge was about to explode, and the teeth in her mouth were grinding audibly.
At the moment when Han Quan was about to burst into flames, Cherry suddenly stood up and walked towards the direction of the restroom.
“Tsk.”
Seeing the separation of the two, Han Quan, who was about to explode, also calmed down. After a brief hesitation, she decided to lie in ambush here.
In Han Quan’s fiery gaze, the “scumbag” behind them elegantly crossed his legs, sitting leisurely.
“Damn, damn, damn, damn…!!”
Han Quan was about to explode.
(Sigh…)
Qing Yue sighed softly. She had noticed something, but she didn’t want to remind the other party.
At this moment, a figure quietly slipped out from the other side of the bushes. Then, cutely making a “shh” gesture towards Qing Yue, the girl came behind the completely absorbed Han Quan. She mischievously approached Han Quan’s ear and blew a breath.
“What are you looking at, Quan-chan~?”
