A Villainous Aristocrat's Pursuit of Peace ~ Reincarnated as the Most Talented Mage in History, I'll Achieve Supremacy in order to live a peaceful life with My Maid~ - Chapter 69
I had completely healed the queen with my extraordinary mana recovery speed within a few hours. Now, I was preparing to confront the ancient menace that had plagued their country for centuries.
It was incredibly powerful due to its long existence, but I believed that I could defeat it with my current strength. I had made the necessary preparations.
“Alright, then I’ll be off.”
“I’m coming with you,” Mea said.
As I was about to leave, Mea grabbed my sleeve, trying to hold me back. Her touch conveyed her desire for me to stay, even though she didn’t have the physical strength to stop me.
However, I gently removed her hand.
“It’s a no-go. I can’t risk putting you in danger, Mea.”
“I’m worried. I always wait for you to come back. Can’t you understand how I feel?”
As she said this with tears in her eyes, I found myself unable to respond. Mea was incredibly strong, and her contract with the Spirit King gave her considerable power, so she might be more helpful than I realized.
However, my emotions and my heart were screaming at me, telling me not to let her go.
“Alright, I understand. Let’s go together,” I replied.
Mea clenched her fist in front of her chest and determinedly said, “I’ll do my best.”
With Mea by my side, we headed toward the World Tree.
“Jin, normally, only Queen-sama is allowed inside here,” Mea said, standing in front of the massive wall made of the World Tree’s roots.
I was well aware of this.
In the game, I had never managed to enter beyond this wall. In the game, it was impossible to engage in combat until after the seal had been broken.
You might be thinking we could simply break the wall. While it’s technically possible, it’s not that straightforward.
This wall was created by the World Tree, considered the creator of the world, to protect itself. It was essentially the guardian of the World Tree, and its strength surpassed even that of the indestructible World Tree. In other words, there was no creature in existence capable of breaking the World Tree, which meant there was no being capable of breaking this wall.
Even for me, it would take all my strength just to make a tiny dent in it. So the best approach was to leap over it (100 kilometers), but it seemed Mea had a secret plan up her sleeve.
“Are you really sure about this?” I asked.
Mea gave a confident thumbs-up, and she looked incredibly cute when she did. But I still felt a bit uneasy.
It seemed my unease was visible on my face because Mea said with a mischievous smile, “It’s a secret from here, okay?”
With a seductive smile, Mea put her index finger to her lips and gently touched the wall, then whispered something.
“【Void Chaos】… It’s been a while since I’ve been summoned.”
Mea called out this unfamiliar name, and the space in front of us seemed to warp into a fourth dimension, creating a three-dimensional cavity. From that cavity, a young girl with pure white hair and eyes emerged.
“Good morning,” she said, rubbing her eyes sleepily as she approached Mea.
I was completely fixated on this newcomer, utterly taken aback by this entity I had never seen before. It was my first encounter with something entirely unfamiliar in this world.
Not only that, but I could intuitively sense that this entity, as a spirit king’s contractor like Mea, must be the spirit king itself.
“Shade… do you know who or what this is?” I asked.
“Chaos, the spirit of void… She is an origin spirit created before us, the spirit kings,” Shade replied.
I was in shock, and Shade’s voice, filled with an unusual tension, along with the shocking revelation, made me gape in disbelief. I had always believed that the spirit king was an origin spirit, but the idea that there were other origin spirits was beyond anything I had encountered in the game.
“Mea, is she your contracted spirit?” I asked hesitantly.
Mea nodded in response, and she and Chaos began to exude a tremendous amount of magical energy. What I had thought was an impenetrable barrier was suddenly torn open, leaving me utterly astounded.
“Shall we proceed, Jin?” Mea asked, snapping me out of my stupor. I nodded in silence.
I may not understand what was happening, but there was one thing I could say for sure— Mea is cute.
