A Villainous Aristocrat's Pursuit of Peace ~ Reincarnated as the Most Talented Mage in History, I'll Achieve Supremacy in order to live a peaceful life with My Maid~ - Chapter 72
“Is it really okay? You worked so hard for the village, and now…” Mea frowned, appearing somewhat dissatisfied.
“It’s more than okay. Just having you praise me is more than enough,” I replied.
After defeating the Evil Dragon King, I left the Elven village with Mea. We paid a visit to her parents and then discreetly left during the festive celebration night. The party atmosphere allowed us to slip away unnoticed. We’re currently far from the village, near the forest exit to the kingdom, so there’s no need to worry about being pursued.
I’m sure that several hours have passed since then, and by now, it’s probably become known that the Evil Dragon King was defeated. People are likely speculating about the hero who accomplished it. But I hope they can figure it out on their own.
“Hehe, you’re still as modest as ever, Jin. My praise alone isn’t enough for you.”
“But you see, Mea… my desires are already fulfilled by being in a relationship like this with you.”
In the world after my reincarnation, I first thought I would be the absolute villain, and I was quite bewildered by it. However, I had a fateful encounter with Mea, my favorite character. I discovered that I could alter the course of my story, and with many twists and turns, we eventually became lovers and even got engaged.
Now, my only wish is to marry Mea, become her husband, and spend a peaceful life together until the end. I don’t want anything else.
“My only wish is to have a wedding, become a couple, and spend a peaceful life together until the end. I don’t want anything else.”
“Surprising me like that isn’t fair,” Mea blushed and averted her eyes.
However, her characteristic long ears were twitching rapidly, revealing her joy.
As a side note, I told Mea’s parents that we would be heading home now, that I would love Mea for the rest of my life, and that once everything was settled, they would be the first to be invited to our wedding. At that moment, Mea turned beet-red from embarrassment due to my words and the warm gazes of her family. Honestly, she was incredibly adorable.
I also asked them to keep it quiet that we would be leaving the village now.
To be honest, I was simply worried about being denied the engagement due to our unsanctioned entry into the World Tree and our rampage. It was a real hit-and-run, but that’s what it is.
Moreover…
“We still have things to do. I’m concerned if our home was damaged.”
“Our home should be fine because Tordeon is there. Anyone who tries to harm it will get what’s coming to them.”
“Ah, you’re right…”
I hadn’t seen him in a while and had completely forgotten, but I remembered that the Thunder Wolves lived in the forest where we built our house. While they weren’t as strong as Mea and I, they were definitely a force to be reckoned with, and they wouldn’t lose to the average riffraff or moderately strong opponents. I even worried that parts of the forest might have been scorched.
The biggest concern was the plot with Mea and me. The original story had already collapsed, so my knowledge of the story was utterly meaningless. From now on, I would take the initiative to eliminate any potential dangers.
Of course, there was no reason to go back to school, so I probably wouldn’t be going back there.
In the grand scheme of things, there was only one issue that concerned Mea and me, and it was related to our role as the final boss. It revolved around the Divine Sword family.
After having threatened them once, there had been no contact so far, but it was unlikely they would just give up. They would likely launch another attack soon. This family was connected to other countries and was the mastermind behind turning Jin into the final boss using magical technology they had acquired from another country.
In other words, we were going to have to fight against the Swordmasters and their country in a war. They were a major power, so it would be difficult to take them head-on, and it would take time. I planned to have some people help us with this.
Once that was over, all of our death flags would be completely erased, and we would finally be free from the story.
“So, we can finally live in peace.”
“I can tell what you’re thinking most of the time, but don’t overdo it. Hmm, in that sense, it might have been a good thing that we came back home early.”
“…?”
Mea suddenly said that. I was puzzled, not understanding her meaning. Then, out of nowhere, she took my hand and held it, interlocking our fingers like a couple. She hugged my arm and rested her head on my shoulder.
“We will finally be able to live peacefully without any worries, without interference from anyone, without any malice directed at us, like a calm newlywed life.”
She looked up at me with a soft, defenseless smile, making such a heartwarming statement.
Damn it… Why is Mea so cute? I almost fainted from her overwhelming cuteness.
“Yeah, you’re right. We haven’t really had that kind of life until now.”
“I love the time I spend with you more than anything else.”
Why does my girlfriend say such sweet and adorable things? It’s almost too much to handle.
“Alright then, let’s hurry back. To our home.”
“Yes!”
Well, now that we’re back, we have a lot to prepare for the wedding. There are so many things to do.
I gazed at Mea, her head resting on my shoulder. Her beautiful silver hair fluttered in the breeze, and her eyes, the same color as her hair, gazed at me.
We instinctively moved closer, and our lips met ever so gently.
“Mea, thank you for always being by my side.”
“Jin, thank you for always cherishing me.”
As we spoke, Mea wore a radiant smile. I’m sure I had a beaming smile on my face as well.
This was the happy ending that Jin and Mea, the characters from the game, had never shown to any player until now—a life filled with peace, love, and joy.
