Chapter 1

Shen Yi had a long dream. In the dream, she was nineteen years old, and had been just admitted to the film and television academy. 

The dream felt too real. Suddenly, she was in a sea of fire, and just before she lost consciousness, she was still thinking about why he wanted to kill her.

Shen Yi woke with a jolt. With messy hair, she sat cross-legged on the upper bunk, looking at the girls in the dormitory. One girl was busy applying makeup; another girl hurriedly came out of the bathroom, pulled up her skirt, adjusted it, and stuffed a bra patch on her chest; and sitting on the bed diagonally opposite her was a girl putting on trousers.

The three of them were busy with their own affairs, and no one bothered to pay attention to Shen Yi. 

Shen Yi was shocked after waking up and couldn’t recover for a long time. She reached out and grabbed the railing of the bed, realising she was alive.

She couldn’t help but open her mouth to speak. “Hi, Chen Tiantian, Liao Ya, and Mingyue. Good morning.”

The three of them paused and, strangely, looked at her. 

“Why are you talking with us? Didn’t you tell us that you are from the He family? The young Miss of the He family has another name. Oh, you are Shi Rou’s sister, right?” Mingyue had a fiery personality, and she mocked Shen Ji. 

Hearing those words, Shen Yi was startled. She remembered that her stepsister, Shi Rou, was a sophomore this year. With the help of her stepbrother, He Lin, Shi Rou got a role as the second female lead in a big IP.

During filming, He Lin visited Shi Rou, making her more popular.

As the three roommates in the dormitory didn’t give a good face to Shen Yi, Shen Yi felt uncomfortable. She fell out with them as soon as she moved in, and during the quarrel, they said many unpleasant things about her.

What made them laugh the most was when Shen Yi kept saying, “I am a child of the He family.”

“Oh, you are a child of the He family? Then why didn’t He Lin invest in a TV series for you and make you the heroine?”

“You are a child of the He family who lives in the same dormitory. But He Lin only comes to see Shi Rou, not you.”

Mingyue and the others didn’t intend to talk with Shen Yi anymore, so they left the dormitory after getting ready, leaving Shen Yi alone. 

Shen Yi sat alone on the bed for a while, and after confirmation, she understood that she did not dream; she was reborn at nineteen.

‘This is the year I just got admitted to Jincheng Film and Television Academy.’

She had just started her life. Therefore, she could finally push away all the bad things that happened in her past life.

Shen Yi climbed down the upper bunker bed and walked around the dorm, touching different things. Then she quickly opened the door, ran outside in her pyjamas, and stood in the hallway. 

Feeling the refreshing air, Shen Yi quickly ran down the stairs very happily. As she got to the bottom of the stairs, she saw a black SUV coming towards the building. She quickly looked at it and leaned against the wall without thinking. 

A handsome man got out of the vehicle.

He was He Lin, the eldest son of the He family.

He looked at Shen Yi.

Shen Yi felt like struck by lightning. She was scared of her stepbrother because she knew he was not easy to get along with.

He saw the little girl, and then he went upstairs.

Shen Yi stood by the wall, waiting for him to pass her. She was really scared and forgot to greet him. 

He walked a little and then stopped to look at her again. 

Shen Yi was going to leave, but then she realised that He Lin was looking at her. 

She awkwardly raised her hand and said, “Hello, Brother He.”

He Lin nodded and asked, “Is there no class today?” 

Shen Yi hurriedly responded. “Have; I’m going to go to the class.” Then she quickly ran up the stairs without waiting for Lin.

He Lin was watching the girl run up the stairs like ants in her pants.

Shen Yi quickly got ready. While changing, she thought that He Lin liked Shi Rou a lot, as he came to see her again. 

Shen Yi was not her mother’s real daughter, and she was adopted by her mother’s late husband. Before she started living a normal life, she didn’t have a home or enough food to eat and had to stay in the streets and alleys. Luckily, she met her adoptive father and could live a happy life. Sadly, the happy times didn’t continue for very long because her father passed away, leaving her and her adoptive mother. Her mother was gentle and fragile, and she was not good at making money. They were going through tough times again, and it was then that the boss of the He family started liking her mother. Mr. He married her mother because she looked like his ex-wife, and they moved to the mansion.

Suddenly, she had a rich lifestyle, and she was extremely eager to seize everything in front of her. But at the same time, she was afraid that when her mother grew old, she would lose the favour of Mr. He. Therefore, she began to please He Lin, began to persuade her mother to seize everything in the He family, and began to use all means to gain fame.

Finally, she made a huge mistake and got a tragic ending by getting burned in a fire. 

The professor of the morning class was very mean, so Shen Yi rushed to the class, but she was unlucky. Of course, if it were her previous life, she would skip the class without any hesitation, but as she was reborn, she thought about changing her life. She needed to get better at acting, and this made her switch between the three labels of no acting skills, vase, and jokes, which she was famous for in her previous life.

In her previous life, although Shen Ji was labelled as a joke in the entertainment industry, she thought someday she would be able to get better, but unfortunately, her hope vanished in the fire.

The bald teacher saw that. “This late classmate, come up and read this poem to me,” he said, looking at the paper.

Shen Yi was surprised and stood still as the bald professor looked at her. She stood up and walked over to him, then looked quickly at the script. It was “Drunken Flowers,” written by Li Qingzhao for her husband at the Double Ninth Festival.

Shen Ji was a smart student. But later she wanted to be more famous than Shi Rou, so she began to ignore her classes and not pay attention to her studies. So the professor also didn’t have a good impression of her. “Can you read that? he asked in a stern voice.

Shen Yi smiled at first and said, “Teacher, I will read it carefully. Can you tell me what I’m not good at? I’ll correct them.”

“Sure.” The bald professor was surprised by Shen Yi’s reply. ‘This student is attractive and smart, but she has a mischievous personality. Shortly after school started, she started to skip my classes.’

The students wanted to watch a good show, but Shen Yi’s modest and weak behaviour stopped them from making fun of her. 

Shen Yi held the script and scanned it briefly.

Originally, her acting skills were not good, and her dialogue skills were also not good. Once she participated in the filming, she was asked to face the camera and just read the lines because they would be dubbed later. However, someone posted the video online, and the whole country laughed at her for more than a month. Some even asked how she got her degree in acting.

Li Qingzhao married two husbands in her life. Her first husband, Zhao Mingcheng, was a man who understood her very well. The love story between the two of them was “green mountains and green waters along the way, and the music and the piano were gentle.” It can be said that they were a couple born in heaven, and this poem, “Drunken Flowers,” was written by Li Qingzhao for Zhao Mingcheng.

Li Qingzhao loved drinking, and there was a line in this poem, “Dongli drinks wine after dusk,” which means that she wrote this poem after drinking. Therefore, the emotion when reading this poem must also be a little drunk.

Shen Yi read the entire poem in her heart and then fell to a seat as she was drunk, leaving her classmates and the bald professor stunned. 

Shen Ji: “Teacher, I’m going to arrange my feelings.”

Hearing that, the professor’s eyes widened because he had never met such a dramatic person.

Shen Yi kept smiling. She pulled a student sitting aside and said with a smile, Classmate, lend me your thigh.” 

The person she pulled happened to be a male classmate. His face turned red, and he nodded shyly. Shen Yi was stunned when she saw his face because he was none other than Qin Sheng, the future acting idol of the new generation. 

Because Shen Yi subconsciously looked at him twice, Qin Sheng asked shyly, “Is it okay if I just sit like this?”

He was sitting cross-legged, and Shen Yi immediately nodded. “Okay, okay.” Then she smiled sheepishly. “I’m offending you.” After saying that, she fell and leaned on his leg.

Qin Sheng froze immediately, and he looked at Shen Yi with curiosity.

After Shen Yi sat down, she began to read the poem.

Shen Yi’s gentle voice floated in the classroom. She shook her hands as if she were carefree, but her tone was slightly drunk, and the feeling of lovesickness overflowed in her voice. After reading, she seemed lovesick, as if she were Li Qingzhao herself.

She opened her eyes with a smile and looked at the bald professor. 

The bald professor probably didn’t expect Shen Yi to recreate the scene and speak so passionately. It was obvious that she took her task seriously. He said, “The scene was restored well, but you still need to practice more. It’s not very coherent. Pay attention to the pauses, suppress first, and then raise.”

Shen Yi nodded. “Okay, thank you, teacher.”
