Chronicles of an Extreme Yandere - Chapter 11
A muffled sound echoed in my mind as the scene before me spun 180 degrees, and my consciousness gradually faded away.
☆
“Yuchun!” Guan Guo couldn’t believe it. His close friend, who had been with him for years, had just been struck by his sister, spinning almost a full circle in the air before crashing to the ground, blood spraying on the wall like a fountain.
As he watched Bai Yuchun convulsing on the ground, Guan Guo deeply regretted not revealing the truth to Yuchun earlier. If he had, he wouldn’t be here at this moment. He also blamed himself for not following his parents’ advice from the beginning. They had advised him to send his sister, Guan Ting, to a specialized facility. However, he had thought that with time and maturity, her condition would improve, so he had let her live in the densely populated city.
But this time, it had reached a breaking point.
Seeing that Bai Yuchun still had a breath, Guan Ting approached his lifeless body, raising the baseball bat high.
With both of Guan Guo’s legs encased in casts, he was powerless and could only watch as Guan Ting struck Bai Yuchun’s head repeatedly.
1, 2, 3 strikes.
Bai Yuchun’s body gradually stopped moving.
Tears welled up in Guan Guo’s eyes.
“Stop it…”
However, just as Guan Ting was about to strike for the fourth time, the room’s door was suddenly kicked open.
Before Guan Guo could see who it was, a figure swiftly approached Guan Ting. A silver flash, and Guan Ting’s body suddenly knelt down, emitting a horrifying scream.
“Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah!”
A small knife emitting a faint light was stuck in her knee joint.
The figure didn’t stop there. With one hand, they threw Guan Ting onto the bed where Guan Guo had been resting. Then, picking up the fallen baseball bat, they hurriedly ran forward.
This was the first time Guan Guo had witnessed such swift and decisive action. The person seemed determined to kill Guan Ting.
But at the critical moment, Bai Yuchun’s body made a faint sound.
“Ugh…” Though his breath was feeble, at least it was a sign that Bai Yuchun hadn’t died.
The figure stopped approaching Guan Ting, tossed the baseball bat aside, and rushed to Bai Yuchun’s side. Moonlight slowly seeped in through the window, and Guan Guo finally saw who it was.
It was Ye Zhen.
☆
“I see, 1:50 was the moment when the intruder woke up Guan Ting, and 2:00 was when she killed the intruder. That’s why she went berserk after waking up.”
“And the solution is to make her faint after she wakes up.”
“Hey, Yuchun, you’re pretty clever.”
“I am.”
“But that doesn’t mean you have the right to refuse. Come on.”
Wearing a swimsuit, Ye Zhen sat on my lap, teasing me as I rested on the bed.
Her stunning figure and nearly perfect face had my nerves on edge, causing the scar on my head to send signals of pain.
She handed me a small spoon with yellow liquid, which I heard was the restorative chicken soup she had been simmering since morning.
“I’ve already told you, it’s just a minor laceration and concussion. I don’t need this kind of harmful overstimulation for my body.”
Ye Zhen’s previously playful expression changed abruptly as she leaned in.
“I’ve told you, you don’t have the right to refuse. If I have to say it a third time, I’ll use a kiss to make you suffocate.”
That serious look resurfaced in her eyes.
“Please… have mercy.”
“So obedient~”
After some teasing, she reluctantly got off me.
“I have to say, Ye Zhen, if you won’t allow me to leave the sickroom, at least tell me about their condition.”
“You’re surprisingly gentle, even though they almost killed you.”
“It’s not like I had a choice, right?”
“Not a choice? From my perspective, it’s the result of your stubbornness.”
As she spoke, she shamelessly changed her clothes right in front of me, and I couldn’t help but turn my head away from the shocking sight.
“But since you put it that way, I’ll go check on them.”
Ye Zhen turned back, leaving behind a bowl and chopsticks with an order to finish before coming back.
I took a sip of the soup; it tasted quite good.
Thinking back to last night, if she hadn’t shown up to rescue me, I might have really died. The iron helmet had been smashed beyond recognition by the stick, my head had burst open with the first blow, and the top of the baseball bat I had brought had deeply caved in. What kind of strange strength was that?
But Guan Guo faced a more challenging dilemma, as he had to find a way to tell Guan Ting the truth.
She might think that everything would be fine if I weren’t around.
Thinking about these things now was pointless. I shook my head and dialed my dad’s number on my new phone.
“Hey! You brat, why are you contacting me now? I heard the house burned down, and I was almost scared to death!”
“But you did come back, right…”
“Xiao Qian called me and said you’re staying at her place.”
Hearing this, my heart sank.
But I still didn’t tell my father about being held captive.
“Um, Ye Zhen is back.”
“Yeah, I know.”
Both father and son fell silent, and this was the first time in my life.
“What’s wrong, Dad?”
“Nothing. Is she here now?”
“No.”
“I see. If you see her later, please ask her to tell me the rent for the apartment. I’ll transfer it to your account, and you can give it to her.”
“She said it’s okay to use my account…”
“Don’t worry about what she says. Just tell me, alright?”
This father-son conversation lasted only a few minutes, but it made me more interested in Ye Zhen as a person.
Ye Zhen arrived alone at Guan Ting’s hospital bed.
Sitting by her side was her brother, Guan Guo, who seemed to be dozing off due to staying up all night with his sister.
“Ye… classmate?”
Due to the recent anesthesia, Guan Ting remained in a semi-conscious state.
A smile curled on Ye Zhen’s lips as she gently sat on Guan Ting’s bed and whispered something into her ear in an extremely soft voice.
Suddenly, Guan Ting’s pupils began to roll back, and she collapsed onto the bed.
Ye Zhen seemed quite satisfied as she left the room.
About five minutes later, Guan Ting’s eyes opened again, and she mechanically sat up, pulling out the IV needle with her bare hands.
The blood spilling out did not seem to affect her mentally.
Slowly, she turned her head towards Guan Guo, who was sleeping beside her.
A week later, I was discharged from the hospital.
As soon as I reached the main road, I flagged down a passing taxi and immediately headed to the city’s largest cemetery because they were holding my friend’s funeral.
People dressed in mourning attire lined up both inside and outside, and it took me quite an effort to reach my friend’s parents.
They had already cried their eyes out. Indeed, their son was dead, and their daughter had been sent to the hospital with schizophrenia. Was there anything more tragic in this world?
The sound of weeping was incessant, and after I handed the bouquet to the person conducting the funeral, I left. After all, I was afraid that if I stayed too long, my sense of guilt would torment me just like that girl.
But unfortunately…
“Ahhhh!!!”
I couldn’t hold back my tears…
Why… Why did this have to happen…
My eyes couldn’t stop the flood of tears, and I cried like a woman in the middle of the street.
The pedestrians around me all turned their heads and hurriedly walked away, as if they considered me a lunatic.
In the end, I was brought to the police station, and after they found out the reason, they kindly brought me to the apartment building.
After opening the door, I just lay down on the bed without even bothering to lock it.
When I woke up, there was someone by my bedside.
It was Ye Zhen, hugging me tightly.
Normally, I would have pushed her away, but this time I didn’t refuse. Instead, I closed my eyes again in her embrace.
It was soft and comforting.
“Did I harm them?”
“Idiot.”
Ye Zhen held me even tighter.
“You didn’t do anything wrong. This is the consequence of their own actions. They should have already expected it, so you don’t need to drown yourself in sorrow.”
“But… they died… Guan Guo… He’s been my supportive friend for these years… I almost treated him like my brother…”
