Chronicles of an Extreme Yandere - Chapter 9
Lu Bin and I arrived at the hospital where Guan Guo resided, with some fruits.
“He actually fell from the third floor.”
“The room he lives in has a floor-to-ceiling window. Maybe he forgot to lock it before going to bed. When he got up and went to the toilet, he fell down.”
“Speaking of people who have floor-to-ceiling windows in their children’s rooms, they have their faults, especially with the windows outside his house, which are not the balcony.”
“Maybe it’s beautiful…”
After chatting, we found the room where Guan Guo lived.
“No way! Is that guy wealthy?”
“Ah, Brother Yuchen and Brother Lu Bin.”
“Hello there.”
As soon as we entered, we found Guan Ting, who was cutting apples for her brother.
“Did you come to see me when you heard something? It really is a close friend!” Guan Guo covered his face and grinned.
“No, I just came to the arcade.”
“What a coincidence. Me too.”
“You two have a slightly higher synchronization rate today.”
I handed a bottle of Coke to Guan Ting, and she very wisely went out to get a cup.
“How about Lu Bin helps Guan Ting?”
“Uh… I just sat down!”
“Exercise yourself, or you will not be able to pass this exam.”
After hearing me, Lu Bin, although not very convinced, obediently ran out.
Soon, Guan Guo and I were left in the ward.
“How did you manage that? It’s the first time in all these years that I’ve seen you mistake the direction of the window.”
“What do you mean? It’s not like you haven’t stubbed your toe on furniture at home, especially when you’re sleepy?”
The expression on his face was natural, as if it were genuinely an accident.
“Have you checked the time of the fall?”
“I happened to be in my neighbor’s courtyard at that time, and I was wearing a watch. Even my cell phone was still charging on the bedside table. How could I have seen the time?”
“Is that so?”
Anyway, I didn’t expect to get any information from his mouth.
“Well, are you leaving now?”
Seeing me stand up to leave, Guan Guo asked with some reluctance.
“Yeah, after all, there are things to take care of.”
Just when I arrived at the inpatient department, I learned from a nurse waiting for the elevator that a familiar person had also been admitted to this hospital.
[That patient hasn’t eaten anything yet.]
[Give her a nutrient solution, but she’s a patient of the Eleucho Consortium. We might get fired.]
[Rich people can be really annoying.]
The Eleurus Consortium…
I reached the 8th floor of the hospital, just two floors below where Guan Guo lived.
I walked into a room without a name tag and immediately saw a woman in a sick suit with bandages in several places.
Because she had not eaten for a long time and relied only on intravenous fluids, her once-youthful appearance had become a bit worn. Her pupils were dim and lifeless, but her expression held a strange smile.
The reason for her laughter was probably something in her hands, which appeared to be a photo frame.
The sound of me opening the door didn’t grab her attention. I suppose she mistook me for a doctor coming to examine her. It was clear she hadn’t eaten in many days, and she hadn’t even paid any attention to the delicious lunch I had just bought. Her mental state was clearly abnormal from the start.
“Hey.”
I placed the meal on the pictures she was gazing at.
The picture above was exactly what she had compelled me to take when we first met.
Obstructed by the white lunch box, she lifted her head with a start; her fierce expression and vacant eyes made her appear utterly horrified.
But once she realized it was me who had interrupted her, her eyes immediately regained composure.
“Little dust…”
“Don’t talk. I’m not here to listen to your explanations. Eat your food.”
She didn’t look at me when she saw me, so she stayed very quiet, opened the lunch box, and began to eat.
“Delicious…”
“Why don’t you usually eat it if you like it? It’s just what you ordered from the menu today.”
“Xiaochen sent it to me, so it’s different and delicious.”
When I heard her mention Xiaochen, who was probably a friend, my attitude softened.
“Yes, that’s fine. There’s nothing wrong with the injury.”
“I was just hit by a nail gun and nicked by a knife. Xiaochen was overly concerned.”
I felt like the conversation with her was gradually returning to its previous tone.
“Then I’ll go now.”
“Wait!”
She reached out and grabbed the corner of my clothing.
“Is there anything else?”
“I’m sorry, I couldn’t control myself at that time, and I did so many things that made you sad. I promise I won’t do it again! Can you forgive me?”
“How is that possible?”
My words seemed to hit her heart like a hammer, and her slightly angry eyes soon turned lifeless again.
This guy is really…
“Do you think I’ll forgive you without any compensation?”
“Hmm…” She seemed as if she couldn’t hear clearly and looked at me.
“After you’ve recovered and completed what I asked of you, maybe, just maybe, I’ll forgive you.”
After hearing my words, she lowered her head and remained silent for a long time.
A tear fell onto her hands. I believe no one can stand seeing this. In order to avoid saying anything hurtful again, I immediately left her room.
☆
“Have you met that woman?”
“No, not yet.”
Sure enough, going to the hospital is always unlucky for me. I had thought of using the holiday to visit friends, and I end up running into the most troublesome one.
“Your words are dripping with deception.”
“Don’t be ridiculous; you’re just overly suspicious.”
Wearing a sleeveless top that screamed summer attire, along with brown shorts that highlighted her perfectly wrapped thighs under knee-high socks, and a pair of sneakers, she sported a youthful and active appearance.
“Why are you here, anyway?”
Eriu Yezhen adjusted her red-framed glasses and picked up the book nearby. “Since we’re in a bookstore, can you think of anything other than reading a book?”
I admit that my previous question was rather foolish.
“Well, then, what kinds of books do you like to read?”
In response to my question, Ye Zhen handed me the bag she was holding.
One book was in English and looked like a literary masterpiece, while the other was a Chinese cookbook.
“Oh, if this had been in the past, I would never believe you read such a book.”
“People can change, can’t they? I’ve moved past my naive self from back then, but as for you…”
“Please, let’s not go there.”
“You’re still as pitiful as ever, no matter how you look at it.”
“Did your elementary school teach you moral character lessons from your uncle?”
After I finished reading my comics, and she selected her books, the two of us left the bookstore, and dusk had already settled in.
“By the way, I’ve never heard you mention where you’ve been all these years.”
Ye Zhen fell silent.
“Didn’t Ling Ling tell you?”
“My dad knows?”
But Ye Zhen didn’t respond to my questions.
“Ye Zhen?”
“Never mind. If Ling Zun thinks it’s better not to tell you, I’ll respect his wishes.”
“What are you talking about?”
Ye Zhen walked ahead without looking back. This was the first time she had dodged my questions, and it only piqued my curiosity more.
Unfortunately, Ye Zhen remained silent once we arrived home.
She looked truly beautiful when she wasn’t speaking.
“What would you like to eat today?” She suddenly asked as she washed her hands.
“Eh?”
“Can’t you hear me? I asked what you’d like to eat today.”
“Wait! While I did ask you to cook for me when I was unwell before, I don’t need to take medicine anymore, and my health has improved. I can cook for myself!”
“I didn’t plan on having you cook from the start, especially since chopping might be troublesome for you.”
“Hey! What are you implying? Do you think I’ll cry from chopping onions?”
“That’s not what I meant.” She lightly touched my cheek with her finger.
“I’m worried I won’t be able to control myself and might accidentally eat you.”
Why does this person still say such things?
“Just drop it.”
As I reached out to grab the kitchen knife that had been lying there, she suddenly tossed it into the air, distracting me for a few seconds with my eyes following the knife’s trajectory, and then quickly pushed me to the ground.
She was wearing a short skirt and a stylish top, and now she was so close.
“Ever since you entered the bookstore, you’ve been staring at me.”
“What are you talking about…”
At this moment, the kitchen knife in the air began its descent, but Ye Zhen skillfully caught the handle without looking.
“If you think I’m about to attack you now, what are the odds you think you can escape?”
“How would I know.”
“Oh, not rejecting the idea but actually contemplating being taken by me? You seem to be an unexpected pervert, Yu Chen.”
“If you have time to discuss such nonsense, why don’t you get up quickly!”
Yezhen didn’t move away, instead, she pressed her face closer.
“Why so tense? It’s not the first time, after all. Right, that woman did the same to you…”
“Shut up!” Damn…
Ye Zhen’s lips formed the last few words, but she didn’t speak them aloud.
“I don’t want to think about that day again, I’m sorry.”
I lost control for a moment and yelled at her…
“I should be the one apologizing. I got carried away by the moment. I’m sorry.”
Ye Zhen buried her head in my chest, and for a while, I didn’t know what to say.
We lay in this position for about 10 minutes. In the end, dinner was still prepared by Ye Zhen.
After 9 o’clock in the evening, I sent Ye Zhen home with their driver and arrived alone at the entrance of a sports equipment store.
After purchasing the helmet and chest protector used by a baseball catcher, I also bought a bat and some white powder for drawing lines.
Then, under the cover of the night, I sneaked into the hospital I had visited earlier in the day.
Since that guy refuses to say anything, I’ll find out for myself!
For this, I also went to Shou Yuqian’s room.
She was having supper, regaining her energy. She was surprised to see me again, but also seemed pleased.
“Xiaochen, why are you here again?”
“Here’s your first task. I’m going to sleep here, and then you have to wake me up at 1:45 in the middle of the night, understand?”
Although Shou Yuqian couldn’t comprehend my intentions, she nodded her head.
This concluded the preparations.
☆
Fully equipped, I used the caregiver sister as an excuse to successfully convince the nurse to agree to my request to spend the night here. After a short rest, I finally arrived at 1:45 am, 15 minutes before 2 o’clock.
It took me 4 minutes to ascend the stairs to the 10th floor.
I approached Guan Guo’s ward quietly, peering inside through the window concealed by the doorway.
Oh, is Guan Guo still engrossed in his cell phone?
Looking a bit to the left, I spotted Guan Ting, who was sound asleep.
Did my sister stay just because of the surgery?
AM1: 50
Guan Guo still maintains the posture of looking at his mobile phone, and from time to time, he secretly takes a few photos of his sister while sleeping.
“You said you weren’t a sister?”
AM: 1.55
Guan Ting’s body moved, and she soon opened her eyes, sat up, and frowned at Guan Guo, not knowing what to say.
Guan Guo smiled and put the phone back on the iron cabinet.
[Really, my brother is obviously still injured and stays up late!]
[Sorry, I’m sleeping now.]
Probably that’s all.
Sure enough, I still think right; Guan Ting doesn’t have any dual personality with violent tendencies. After all, and she will get up at two o’clock in the middle of the night, there is no definite evidence at all. Isn’t it like getting up before time, like night? That guy is too suspicious.
However, just as I packed up and left, a sound of glass shattering broke out in the room.
