Elevator Survival: Master of Every Floor - Chapter 50 - The Natives
The skirmish with the Velociraptors ended quickly and, fortunately, didn’t alarm the herd of Wild Buffalos.
Lin Feng glanced at the location of the Velociraptors, held his breath, and aimed at the herd not far away, pulling the trigger.
The gunshot sounded, causing the buffalo herd to scatter in fright.
Lin Feng quickly emptied a magazine of bullets.
The hunt was fruitful. Two Wild Buffalos fell to the ground lifeless, and while a few others were injured, they managed to escape with the herd, thanks to their robust vitality.
The Little Velociraptor, hiding in the bushes, seized the opportunity to pounce on an injured buffalo, sinking its teeth into it. The buffalo let out a pained cry, hoping its herd would return to save it. But the terrified herd had already distanced themselves.
After reloading his gun, Lin Feng fired a few more shots but to no avail, so he gave up.
After all, three buffalos were enough to feed him and the Velociraptor for a while.
However, these three buffalos were quite large, each weighing over a thousand pounds, too heavy for his Leather Backpack.
Each compartment of the Leather Backpack had a weight limit of 200 kilograms, so carrying these buffalos whole was out of the question.
So, Lin Feng decided to butcher the buffalos and pack only the meat.
Before exiting the elevator, he had already cleared two compartments in his Leather Backpack.
He had moved all the medicines and non-perishable food into a corner of the elevator.
The space in the elevator was ample, even if he removed all the items from the Leather Backpack, it would still fit.
Soon, Lin Feng had gathered the three buffalo carcasses together.
With his knife in motion, he quickly gutted the first Wild Buffalo.
The Little Velociraptor lay nearby, feasting on the entrails and bones that Lin Feng had discarded.
He planned to pack mostly meat, not these entrails.
Dismantling a buffalo was time-consuming.
Lin Feng glanced at the remaining time for this level.
【1:20】
Over an hour left. If he couldn’t finish, he’d have to use an overtime card.
But just as Lin Feng was focusing on butchering the buffalo, shouting was heard from afar.
He looked up and saw several black men painted with tribal markings running towards him.
However, they didn’t have any serious weapons—only primitive ones.
It seemed like they meant trouble.
Without any hesitation, Lin Feng raised his gun and began to fire.
The system had warned him that the Indigenous People on this level were hostile to all outsiders.
Therefore, they wouldn’t approach him just for a chat.
Bang, bang, bang, bang, bang!
The gunshots rang out, and several Natives fell to the ground.
The remaining ten or so Natives, hearing the gunfire, immediately dropped to the ground.
They shouted in a language Lin Feng couldn’t understand.
At the same time, they threw their weapons away.
“They’re surrendering already?”
Lin Feng scratched his head in confusion.
If he knew what era he was in now, he probably wouldn’t be so puzzled.
Looking at the buffalo carcasses in front of him, an idea popped into Lin Feng’s head. Why not have these Natives process the buffalos for him? They would surely be faster.
Then, Lin Feng fired a few shots into the air and waved at the surrendering Natives.
The Natives obediently ran over, their faces no longer showing the ferocity they had before.
“Come here, process these buffalos,” Lin Feng commanded, pointing at the buffalo carcasses and the meat he had already processed.
Understanding his simple instructions, the Natives immediately set to work, moving the remaining two buffalo carcasses and butchering all the meat.
Meanwhile, Lin Feng stood guard, his gun at the ready.
This way, the work efficiency had greatly improved.
Lin Feng nodded in satisfaction.
Within half an hour, all the beef had been divided.
After stuffing all the beef into his leather backpack, Lin Feng also took away the remaining ribs and entrails, which could be taken back and roasted directly. The temperature in the elevator was low, they wouldn’t spoil for three to four days.
Seeing that those natives were still following him, Lin Feng was somewhat puzzled. Did they see him as their leader?
What a bizarre tribe this was.
Lin Feng was speechless, then waved his hand at the natives.
“Go back!”
“Roar!!”
The little velociraptor also growled at the natives.
Then it followed Lin Feng back into the elevator.
The natives who were left behind fell to their knees in shock as they watched Lin Feng disappear.
After Lin Feng left, a group of gorgeously dressed nobles rode up on their horses, attracted by the earlier gunshots.
Seeing the natives kneeling on the ground, the leading officer laughed. Unexpectedly, there were additional gains. With a wave of his hand, several soldiers stepped forward to tie up these natives.
Inside the elevator.
Lin Feng hung all the ribs by the fireplace, planning to roast the meat so it would be easier to store.
Of course, he hadn’t forgotten the little velociraptor’s portion.
He gave the little velociraptor two whole rib bones and two beef hearts. That should be enough for it.
Lin Feng still had to deal with the remaining meat and entrails.
All these things, Lin Feng planned to roast and then store them for future consumption.
It took Lin Feng an entire afternoon to get everything done.
“Finally, it’s all done.”
Stretching lazily, Lin Feng lay down on his bed. Just as he was about to sleep, he remembered the goods he had listed on the trading post. He decided to check his earnings before sleep.
Before sleeping, he would list another batch.
When he got to the screen, Lin Feng opened the trading post. There were quite a few buyers, but unfortunately, they all exchanged with basic materials.
Wood and iron, with very few other items.
Lin Feng cancelled the trades for wood, as he had enough for now. He hadn’t even finished using the wood from the previous forest floor, and through trading, he had acquired another two hundred kilograms.
For the remaining items, he gained one hundred kilograms of iron, one gold coin, ten kilograms of gold, but no copper or aluminum at all.
This might be because the items Lin Feng was selling did not include medicine.
If he listed some medicines and specified that they could only be purchased with gold coins, they would probably be snapped up immediately.
After re-listing some food and water scavenged from other people’s elevators, Lin Feng went to sleep.
“Oh right, this ring….”
Lying on the bed, Lin Feng took the ring off his finger.
Increased luck?
Yesterday he casually wished that he could go to a floor with lots of animals, and today it came true.
Although he thought his inner thoughts were somewhat absurd, Lin Feng believed that in this world, there might be nothing that’s impossible anymore.
After all, the system’s attribute panel had indicated that these two rings were indeed luck enhancers.
