Emperor Phoenix World - Chapter 39 They are running for their lives
The two of them were very swift, and they managed to change into fresh clothes in a short amount of time.
Since their clothes had been torn during their escape, Yilin and Yiluo left the damaged garments behind the large tree and didn’t take them with them.
“We’ve obtained the Golden Sun Grass now, and Yilin’s poison is about to flare up. Let’s head back,” Ye Mo suggested as she saw the two emerging from behind the tree.
She had initially expected it to take longer to obtain the Golden Sun Grass, but they had surprisingly succeeded quite swiftly. Now that they had what they needed, there was no reason to linger here.
“Alright,” Yilin and Yiluo nodded in agreement.
They had ventured into the Sun Moon Mountains solely to obtain the Golden Sun Grass and had stumbled upon the iridescent seven-color flowers by chance. With their objectives fulfilled, it was time to leave.
The three of them continued on their way toward the exit of the Sun and Moon Mountains without making any further stops.
They had spent several days within the Sun Moon Mountain Range, and it would still take them a few days to exit.
On the third day, as the three of them continued their journey, something unusual occurred within the Riyue Mountains.
Standing on a small hillside, Yemo squinted slightly as she observed monsters running past below from time to time.
“Miss, our presence is quite conspicuous. It’s hard to believe that monsters of the second and third levels wouldn’t detect us. The one that passed just now was clearly a sixth-level monster; it should have easily sensed us,” Yiluo remarked, gazing at Ye Mo with confusion.
“It’s not that they can’t sense us, but rather that they don’t care about us at all,” Yemo replied, her arms crossed as she stared down at the fleeing monsters.
“They are fleeing for their lives. These are just scattered monsters. More will follow,” she continued.
“Fleeing?” Yilin cast a glance at the monsters. “Even sixth-level monsters are fleeing for their lives. What kind of treasure could cause this?”
“It may not necessarily be a treasure,” Yemo mused with a wry smile. “We’ve been in the Sun Moon Mountains for days, and if there were any unusual treasures being born, we would have seen some signs of it. Those monsters are likely fleeing because there are other, even more formidable monsters within the Sun Moon Mountain Range that they fear.”
“A monster feared even by sixth-level monsters?” Yiluo was baffled as she battled against the wind. She looked at Ye Mo and suggested, “Miss, we should continue on our way.”
“Agreed,” Yemo nodded. Without further discussion, she jumped down from the hillside and led Yilin and Yiluo down an alternate path.
She had no intention of challenging a monster that could terrify sixth-level monsters. Even a one-star senior magician like her couldn’t contend with creatures above the sixth level. Her encounter with the fifth-level blue bird had clearly demonstrated that.
Yilin and Yiluo followed Ye Mo, swiftly departing from the area.
By noon, Yilin began to feel unwell.
Ye Mo had anticipated that Yilin would have an attack in the coming days, but she hadn’t expected it to come so soon.
Checking Yilin’s pulse, Ye Mo retrieved a small porcelain bottle from her space, poured out a white pill, and handed it to Yilin.
“Yilin, hang in there for a little while longer. I’ll refine the elixir as soon as we get back.”
It was possible to refine the elixir within the mountain range, but Yilin’s elixir was crucial. The mountain range was teeming with dangerous monsters and potentially hostile humans, and any disturbance during the refining process could lead to failure.
Taking the elixir from Yemo’s hand, Yilin consumed it and looked at Ye Mo. “Miss, I’ll be fine. I can endure this.”
“Why endure it?” Yemo observed Yilin, whose face was growing paler and more distressed. “Yiluo, help Yilin sit beside the stone. I’ll attend to her.”
