Emperor Phoenix World - Chapter 41 Green Bird
“After their meal, the three of them settled on the rocks to take a well-deserved rest. As the night descended, faint sounds occasionally broke the silence.
Yi Luo and Yi Lin had been skillfully evading pursuit by a fifth-level magical beast while relentlessly searching for their companion, Ye Mo. Yet, the day’s trials had exhausted them, and soon, both young women succumbed to slumber.
Ye Mo gracefully hopped down from her perch on the rocks, casting a watchful gaze upon her sleeping comrades. She let out a soft sigh before seating herself nearby.
As morning’s first light painted the sky, Yi Lin and Yi Luo stirred from their rest. Ye Mo, noticing their awakening, approached and inquired, ‘Have you both had ample rest?’
With a nod from Yi Lin and Yi Luo, they replied, ‘Miss, we have had sufficient rest.’
Ye Mo commanded, ‘Now that you are well-rested, let us continue our journey.’
They descended from their rocky resting place, refreshed, and with purpose, resumed their path into the looming mountains, accompanied by Ye Mo.
For three days, they had trekked tirelessly through the Sun and Moon Mountain Range, and if they kept up their swift pace, they could potentially exit the range by early morning the next day.
Suddenly, Ye Mo halted, her ears attuned to distant sounds as she scanned her surroundings.
Yi Lin chimed in, offering a comforting assurance to Ye Mo, ‘Miss, we are on the outskirts, encountering others is not unusual.’
Ye Mo, however, could not suppress her unease, fervently hoping that it was not Ye Yan and his companions she would cross paths with. While she held no fear of Ye Yan, she simply wished to avoid the confrontation.
Disregarding the mysterious sounds, Ye Mo and her two companions pressed on.
After traversing a considerable distance, they came across a group of three individuals: Baili Rui, Baili Yan, and Liu Ruxin. The trio appeared as if they were waiting for something.
Ye Mo gave them a passing glance, intending to continue on her way.
But then Baili Rui spoke, summoning forth a colossal green bird with a gentle utterance.
Upon laying her eyes on the bird, Ye Mo felt her blood run cold.
This was the very same fifth-level magical beast she had encountered during her Rainbow Seven-Color Flowers’ expedition. More bewilderingly, it was a dual-element magical beast, an exceedingly rare and peculiar find.
If this bird was the man’s magical beast, how could it now serve as the guardian of the Rainbow Seven-Color Flowers? Such an arrangement defied reason.
Guardians for Rainbow Seven-Color Flowers typically ranged from the third to the fifth level – that was standard. But a dual-element magical beast, particularly one capable of flight, was nothing short of extraordinary.
It became abundantly clear that these three individuals had uncovered the Rainbow Seven-Color Flowers some time ago. They had eliminated the guardian magical beast, subsequently enlisting this bird as their new protector.
Having pieced together the situation, Ye Mo regarded the three figures with intense vigilance. She vowed never to relinquish the Rainbow Seven-Color Flowers. Although she harbored little confidence in prevailing in combat, she was resolute that Yi Lin and Yi Luo would not meet their end here.
The sanctum of the Phoenix Ring could only be accessed by the contracted beast tamer and their contracted companions. Consequently, Yi Lin and Yi Luo could not enter. Were it not for this, she would fear these three individuals even less.
Baili Yan, perplexed, scrutinized Ye Mo as he asked his brother, ‘Are you certain this is the flower thief referred to by the Green Bird?’
Flower thief?
Yi Lin and Yi Luo exchanged knowing glances, swiftly recognizing the term their mistress had employed to describe their harvesting of Rainbow Seven-Color Flowers.
Liu Ruxin nodded and gestured toward the Green Bird, which was now flapping its wings indignantly. Such agitation indicated its anger.
The bird’s reaction served as confirmation that this child was indeed the flower thief.
