God of Thunder - Chapter 2- Thunder Seal (Part 2)
A’Feng’s leather armor was personally designed by the old man and crafted together with his granddaughter. The girl’s task was to weave the long fur on the wild bear hides.
The old man said, “Yao Yao, take this pig leg and give it to your Aunt Qing.” Although a front leg of a tusky wild boar was hardly worth mentioning, it was a token of appreciation. The old man always paid attention to such gestures.
The young girl hesitated for a moment, showing a hint of reluctance on her face. However, she still nodded and said, “Okay, Grandpa, I’ll take it over.” Despite being only six years old, she effortlessly lifted a pig leg weighing thirty kilograms.
As A’Feng watched the young girl leave, he fell silent for a moment before asking, “Grandpa, do you have something to tell me?”
The old man nodded, feeling relieved by A’Feng’s alertness. He said, “A’Feng, you’re not young anymore. You’re sixteen this year. You’ve been training since you were six and have laid a good foundation. It’s time to take the next step and formally begin practicing LunLi…”
A’Feng was taken aback. He had been here for almost three years and although he trained boxing and archery every day, he had never heard of LunLi. He asked, “LunLi? What is that?”
He had been trying to understand this world, trying to find out how big it was. However, this place was too closed off, and there was no way to obtain any information. Especially since there were hardly any outsiders here, he could only see a piece of the sky nearby without knowing what the outside world was like.
The only thing he could clearly understand was that this place was definitely not his hometown from his previous life. Every night, seven moons would appear in the sky one after another, each with a different color. From this, he understood that this was a strange world. Apart from this, he didn’t know much else.
The old man said, “LunLi is a magical power that not everyone can cultivate. You must have the corresponding talent and potential. I tested you when you were six… You have the talent and potential to cultivate LunLi.”
A’Feng listened in astonishment. He had always suspected that there were many things in this world he didn’t know, but LunLi was beyond his imagination. He said, “Do people in our Tiger Cliff Fortress possess LunLi? Who?”
The old man replied, “Yes, your parents both possess it. Apart from them, no one else does. Of course, the people here don’t know that your parents possess LunLi.”
Since his soul had occupied A’Feng’s body, he hadn’t seen his parents in this world, only his grandfather and younger sister. So, he had no impression at all. He said, “Oh… I see.”
The old man continued, “Don’t underestimate LunLi. Once cultivated, even ordinary people are no match for it, let alone the barbarians in the mountains.”
Barbarians were also people, but they were born with great strength. They were generally tall and robust, with the shortest being two meters tall. They had thick black body hair and their physique was more akin to wild beasts. In the mountains, they were definitely top hunters. Not only did they hunt animals, but they also hunted humans. They even hunted other barbarians from different tribes and ate them. They were the greatest enemies of hunters because they had a certain level of intelligence.
The old man said, “Wait a moment, there’s something for you.” He got up and walked into the inner room, which was a cave. He gently tapped on the stone wall, quickly found a spot, inserted a dagger into a narrow crack, and forcefully pried it open. He took something out and then returned to the wooden house.
A’Feng’s gaze fell on what the old man held in his hand and asked, “Grandpa, what is that?”
The old man gently caressed the item in his hand for a while before handing it to A’Feng, saying, “This is a seal. Take a look for yourself.”
A’Feng was puzzled. “A seal?” He didn’t understand at all as he took the seal and examined it carefully.
It was a round object, about the thickness of a finger, the size of a palm, and was mostly black with countless silver lines interlacing. These lines resembled the veins of leaves, varying in thickness. The fine ones were like hairs, emitting a silver glow, while the thicker ones were as thick as toothpicks, twisting and extending. The seal was quite heavy, despite its size, weighing seven to eight kilograms.
A’Feng said, “What a strange seal!”
The old man said, “Take a look at those silver lines. What do they resemble?”
A’Feng looked left and right for a while before saying, “They look like the meridians of leaves… no, they look like lightning…” A flash of insight crossed his mind as he remembered images from his previous life. This was indeed a lightning pattern, but with far more lightning bolts.
The old man’s face showed a relieved expression. He said, “Your understanding is good. This is a Thunder Seal! And your LunLi attribute is thunder. What’s especially precious is that you possess a unique thunder attribute, allowing you to cultivate Thunder LunLi, hehe.”
A’Feng held the Thunder Seal in his hand and said, “Hmm, indeed, it feels a bit tingly…”
Just as he finished speaking, the Thunder Seal emitted a faint flicker of lightning. A’Feng, not being a local, didn’t know much about thunder. In his previous life, he knew that thunder was electricity, which could potentially be deadly, so he instinctively raised his hand to throw the Thunder Seal away.
The old man shouted, “Don’t move! Don’t let go! The Thunder Seal is stimulating your LunLi!”
A’Feng considered his grandfather as his own family after living with him for three years. Despite feeling uneasy, he tightly held onto the Thunder Seal.
The Thunder Seal began to emit a faint crackling sound, causing A’Feng’s scalp to tingle. He said, “Grandpa, is… is this… is this okay? This thing… um, it’s really tingly!”
The old man stared intently at A’Feng’s hands and said, “Don’t be afraid, hold steady! Hold steady! Don’t let go!”
A’Feng dared not throw away the Thunder Seal and could only grit his teeth and hold onto it tightly. As the faint crackling sound continued, tiny bolts of lightning surged from the Thunder Seal into A’Feng’s body. The tingling sensation made him extremely uncomfortable, and he stuttered, “Gr… grandpa… when… when will… will this end…”
The old man said, “Hold on… Don’t let go!”
As the electric current surged in, A’Feng’s hair, which had originally draped over his shoulders, stood on end. He couldn’t see it himself, but the sensation of tightly grasping the thunder seal was absolutely uncomfortable.
Young girl Yao Yao came in, alarmed, “Brother, what… what’s wrong with you?”
The old man said, “Don’t touch your brother… Come to Grandpa’s side! Be careful not to touch him!”
The young girl turned pale, looking at her brother whose hair resembled dense thatch, standing on end, as if his entire head had expanded several times. She ran to the old man’s side, her voice trembling, “Grandpa, what’s wrong with brother?” She had been raised by A’Feng since childhood and had a deep emotional bond with him. Seeing her brother in such a strange state made her extremely anxious.
The old man hugged the young girl and whispered, “Don’t disturb your brother. Just watch. Your brother is fine!”
The crackling sound grew louder.
A’Feng couldn’t sit still anymore. He stood up in the middle of the hut, his body twitching uncontrollably. He was being struck by electric currents, but his face turned a fiery red, as if being roasted by flames.
As arcs of electricity flickered, he finally couldn’t hold onto the thunder seal anymore. His hands trembled uncontrollably as he struggled, “I… I can’t… hold on anymore… I…”
Suddenly, the old man shouted, “Don’t throw it… You can let go!”
A’Feng quickly released his grip, but the thunder seal didn’t fall. Instead, it hung in front of his chest, emitting countless threads of electricity, like a net enveloping A’Feng’s body.
Young girl Yao Yao nervously bit her finger, exclaiming, “It’s… glowing… How strange…”
The old man said sternly, “Hang in there! Don’t be afraid… You won’t die!”
Suddenly, the thunder seal moved.
As the thunder seal rotated around A’Feng, he began to move as well. It wasn’t something he wanted to do himself, but rather a response to the stimulation of the electric currents.
Young girl Yao Yao stopped crying because A’Feng was acting so strangely, lifting his arms and legs, swaying his body, and twitching constantly. His bizarre appearance left her dumbfounded. After a while, she whispered, “Grandpa… Brother seems to be dancing…”
The old man said, “That’s right, this is the Thunder Dance!”
A’Feng lamented in his heart, “What the hell… is this Thunder Dance? This is a standard seizure! I… I can’t control my body at all!”
With a sudden split, followed by a half turn of the body, then maintaining the split posture, his body twisted into an unrecognizable shape, with one foot on the ground and the other pointing skyward. With a lightning bolt as thick as a finger striking A’Feng’s lower back, he spun rapidly in place.
A’Feng couldn’t even scream, his mouth was numb, his head spinning, and he involuntarily danced the strange Thunder Dance.
Yao Yao almost bit her finger off, stunned. “Wow, Brother is amazing…”
A’Feng lamented again in his heart, “Amazing my ass… Brother is being electrocuted! Damn it, I’m going to die!”
As A’Feng danced the Thunder Dance, strange streams of heat flowed through his body, gradually making him stronger. A peculiar power began to generate from within him. A’Feng understood that this might be LunLi, but he still couldn’t move, continuing to dance along with the lightning flashes.
The thunder seal’s appearance was no longer visible, as if it were a glowing sun emitting dazzling electric light, causing both the old man and Yao Yao to squint their eyes.
With a thunderous roar, the thunder seal suddenly stabbed directly into A’Feng’s chest, instantly disappearing into his body.
Bang!
A’Feng fell to the ground, landing in a very undignified manner, gasping for breath frantically. By this time, the lightning had disappeared, and the thunder seal had vanished as well.
The old man showed an expression of extreme astonishment. He hadn’t expected the thunder seal to enter A’Feng’s body. It was simply unimaginable. Nervously observing for a moment, he finally confirmed that there was no danger. Then he breathed a huge sigh of relief and whispered, “You’re lucky, kid… I didn’t expect the compatibility to be so good. Your talent is simply terrifying.”
A’Feng forced a bitter smile. “Grandpa, I… I’m completely numb all over… I can’t move!”
