Hell App - Chapter 120 - Exam

Bai Yan patted Ning Xiaobo’s pillow.

After making sure it was soft and did not have any foreign objects stuck inside, Bai Yan stuffed it under his covers.

Then he checked the mattress.

Bai Yan meticulously searched through the bedding. Finally, he uncovered a beheaded doll stuck in the layers of quilt.

It wore a pretty dress marred by blood stains, causing its appearance to be unsettling.

Bai Yan remembered that six days ago, a girl had found this same doll. At that time, its body was clean and complete, and it had a pair of cerulean blue eyes. The girl adored the doll and started playing family with it. 

Unfortunately, the good times did not last. Before long, everyone witnessed a horrifying scene——

While the girl was in a daze of happiness, the doll grew large at a visibly rapid speed. When it reached the same size as the girl, it swung its arm and decapitated her in one swift movement. 

She lifelessly collapsed to the ground and rapidly shrank to the original size of the doll.

Then, the human-sized doll effortlessly lifted the miniaturized girl by her feet and used her to adorn its gemstone brooch.

In everyone’s full view, the doll carried the girl out of the room. No one dared to stop it.

It soon disappeared without a trace, leaving only the girl’s head lying on the floor. Her lifeless eyes were open and unblinking, filled with horror and fear.

Compared to her shrunken body, her motionless head was strikingly macabre.

Just like how no one dared to stop the doll, no one dared to touch the girl’s head either.

In the end, a passing-by custodian picked up the girl’s head, placed it on his janitorial cart, and disappeared into the distance with it……

“Didn’t this doll go missing? How did it get found?”

Holding the headless doll, Bai Yan couldn’t help but feel surprised in his heart.

He pulled open the doll’s dress, revealing the yellowish arms underneath. He immediately recognized it as his former classmate.

The original doll was Caucasian, but the current doll had yellow skin. This indicated that it was his classmate and not the disguise of the former.

The girl and the original doll had switched identities. This doll that was once his classmate is likely meant for a new person to play with.

Bai Yan found the girl’s transformation interesting, but unfortunately, now was not the time to admire it.

He had the premonition that if he held the doll any longer, it would quickly enlarge and behead him, forcing him to become the next doll.

Bai Yan had done many ‘good’ deeds (1) recently and was targeted by many people. He considered each of his classmates and felt that all of them had the possibility of being the culprit.

Unlike Ning Xiaobo and Xu Yue who had openly displayed their malicious intent, the classmate who placed the doll had done it discreetly, leaving him unable to figure out who was behind this ‘good’ deed.  

Not knowing the culprit meant that Bai Yan had no way to return the favor.

He saw the doll’s delicate arm slowly begin to move, indicating that it was becoming alive.

Now, Bai Yan could not waste any more time. He ran to Xu Yue’s bed and yanked back the covers. Following suit, he tossed the doll inside and rearranged the blanket.

Honestly speaking, Bai Yan was usually not one to hold a grudge. Even if he does, his grudges never last the night.

Having done all this, he finally rushed out of the dormitory and closed the door. He ran to the cafeteria and nonchalantly waited to eat dinner, as if nothing had happened……

Because he had to take the exam tomorrow, Bai Yan conserved his energy and fell asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow. He did not pay any attention to Ning Xiaobo and Xu Yue.

The next morning, Bai Yan woke up early.

After the final student entered, Ning Xiuli closed the door. She gave a closed-lip smile while instructing the students to sit on separate chairs.

A stark white examination paper lay on every desk.

The more dangers encountered, the more one knew——at least for the first question, no one in the classroom knew the answer besides him and the proctor Ning Xiuli, who was standing behind the lectern.

After reviewing the front of the exam paper, Bai Yan flipped the exam paper over and discovered a bonus problem.

Unlike the questions on the front that were worth 5 points each, the bonus problem was worth 60 points. Therefore, passing is guaranteed by answering it correctly.
