Ideal Mary Sue - Chapter 41
Luo Ao had someone fetch a military medical spray and sprayed it twice on the broken skin in her palm. The wound visibly healed at a rapid pace.
Su Ning widened her eyes in astonishment. However, upon seeing Luo Ao’s unchanged expression, she refrained from reacting dramatically. She lowered her gaze and spoke with a deeply melancholic expression, “Thank you, General Luo Ao.” With that, she withdrew her hand.
Since things had come to this, she might as well make him dislike her personality, as long as it was the opposite of the ideal personality he liked…
Those delicate and smooth hands, warm and soft as jade, were not fully experienced by Luo Ao before she pulled them back.
Luo Ao’s deep and profound black eyes gazed at her for a moment. Then, he suddenly reached toward her chin.
Su Ning quickly turned her head to avoid his hand.
Her resistance to him was evident.
“You…,” Luo Ao was about to say something when a furious shout came from outside the door.
“Su Ning!!!”
Following the shout, a tall and robust alpha, Greene, walked in.
Following closely behind were the Second Prince and his entourage, who had been left far behind by Luo Ao earlier.
Greene was very angry. He couldn’t understand why Su Ning had avoided him and not responded to his messages after his engagement was called off. Family members and friends said she had played with him, but he refused to believe it because he had received a handkerchief from her with lingering traces of her pheromones that haunted him. To the point that when she sent him a text saying, “I want you to mark me,” he didn’t hesitate and eagerly called off the engagement, publicly announcing his relationship with Su Ning, wishing he could marry her the next day.
Reality, however, dealt him a harsh blow. Su Ning’s actions to distance herself from him, combined with the ridicule from those around them, pushed him to his limits. So when he received news that Su Ning had arrived at the outskirts of the Rogeli Estate, he immediately rushed over.
Seeing her being embraced by another man from afar only fueled his burning anger.
Greene clenched his fists, planning to teach that person a lesson later. Whoever dared to have thoughts about his omega would pay the price!
Angry, Greene stormed into the room but froze upon seeing the face of the person he had intended to confront.
“Luo… Luo Ao… General?”
“Yeah,” Luo Ao nodded faintly, then continued to look at Su Ning. “Come here, you have a wound on your chin.”
However, Su Ning shook her head and replied somberly, “It’s fine, not serious.” With that, she got up from the sofa and walked towards the door.
Luo Ao’s gaze darkened, but he didn’t stop her from leaving.
Greene couldn’t hold back and took a few steps towards her, only to see her, like a startled rabbit, quickly retreat behind the Second Prince standing at the door, seeking refuge. She glared at him and said, “Don’t come any closer!”
Ever since he saw her at the fountain, Eli had a deep impression of her. That face, those eyes, possessed a charm that made it impossible for him to look away. When she fell, he was the first to want to help her up, but he was a step too late.
Luo Ao, who never initiated physical closeness with anyone, reaching out to embrace her already indicated that their relationship was extraordinary.
Eli couldn’t help but admit that he felt disappointed upon realizing this fact…
But to his surprise, she approached him willingly.
The display of trust and reliance made his heart beat intensely.
“Su Ning! That’s the Second Prince!” Greene felt extreme resentment. Su Ning’s attitude clearly treated him as a ferocious beast. Although he did want to catch her and punish her, his methods of punishment toward a delicate omega would at most be a couple of kisses and a few touches, nothing too serious. After all, in the end, she would only belong to him. So why should she fear him and hide behind someone he couldn’t afford to provoke? “Don’t disturb the Second Prince. The Second Prince has important matters to attend to. Come with me, and let’s talk privately.”
“No!” Su Ning shook her head vigorously and attempted to grab Eli’s sleeve in a somewhat provocative manner. Her watery eyes seemed misty as she stared straight into his eyes, her voice slightly trembling. She said, “Second Prince… Can you please not abandon me… He has been pestering me lately, and I’m afraid of him…”
Upon witnessing this, Luo Ao’s expression turned cold.
So, she was unwilling to let him help her but willing to let Eli help her?
Eli gave her a reassuring smile and said, “Don’t be afraid, I won’t abandon you.” He then turned his gaze towards Greene, suppressing the smile at the corners of his mouth, and continued, “The first clause of the Empire’s Omega Protection Law strictly prohibits alphas from using any means or methods to threaten the personal freedom of omegas. If you believe you lack this self-control, I wouldn’t mind sending you to Hittert Prison.”
“Second Prince!” Greene gritted his teeth, glared at Su Ning for a moment, and angrily turned around to leave.
Su Ning gratefully looked at Eli and said, “Thank you, Second Prince.”
Eli replied with a faint smile, “It’s my honor to be able to help a lovely omega like you.”
···
When Anna walked over, she happened to see Greene’s retreating figure.
Witnessing the scene where the little white lotus and the Second Prince were engaged in a cheerful conversation, she couldn’t help but find it glaring. This white lotus really knows how to make moves. She disappeared for just a moment, and now she’s already cozying up to the Second Prince. Although Anna was curious about what had just happened, her immediate priority was to get Luo Ao’s attention.
Anna strode over, her elder brother Eric was a good friend of the Second Prince and also a subordinate of Luo Ao. She first respectfully greeted Luo Ao and the Second Prince, then Eric introduced her to Luo Ao, saying, “General Luo Ao, this is my sister Anna. She has a strong desire to join the Ruiril Legion. Her physical fitness record surpasses the recruitment standards for ordinary soldiers.”
“General Luo Ao, greetings. I am Anna Rogeli. I have always wanted to join the Ruiril Legion and contribute my strength in resisting the invasion of the insect race. I hope the General can give me this opportunity!” Anna’s words were sincere, and her gaze was determined.
Luo Ao carefully examined the physical fitness record on the document. Double A aptitude, and she achieved A grades in all other exams as well. It was indeed impressive for a beta to possess such physical qualities.
“Alright.” Luo Ao nodded, handing the form to his adjutant at his side and said coldly, “Report to the military tomorrow.”
“Yes, General!” Anna exclaimed excitedly, performing a standard military salute.
Catching a glimpse of the figures walking away, Luo Ao retracted his gaze and ascended the stairs.
Eric hurriedly followed, walking ahead of Luo Ao to guide him, and opened the door to a room. “General, this room is relatively quiet. Outside the balcony is a rear garden where you can enjoy the scenery. It’s not crowded, and it won’t be noisy. You can rest well here.”
“Alright.” Luo Ao nodded lightly.
···
Eli took her for a walk in the rear garden, pointing at the golden fish in the pond and said with a faint smile, “This fish has been living here for at least twenty years. I remember when I used to come here as a child, I would feed it.”
“Fish… can fish live that long?”
“Some can, some cannot…”
As Su Ning listened to Eli introduce various fish species, she glanced around out of the corner of her eye. There were hardly any people around, and the few who were there were far enough away that they couldn’t see her eyes.
This was the perfect opportunity to use the indiscriminate ideal form.
The indiscriminate ideal form didn’t limit the target. When used, as long as the other person saw her eyes, it would have a better effect than the ideal form in terms of appearance and personality. However, it also had a fatal flaw: it couldn’t be used in crowded places. Otherwise, it was highly likely that ten or twenty people who saw her eyes would fall in love with her. That would be a real catastrophe!
Eli not only had an elder brother but also an illegitimate older brother, Luo Ao, who was not someone to mess with. Su Ning only used the ideal form to attract Eli’s attention, allowing him to create a time for the two of them alone. Then she would use the indiscriminate ideal form, gradually and subtly changing her appearance and personality. This way, the Second Prince wouldn’t notice anything wrong, and it would also avoid the awkwardness when meeting the Crown Prince or Luo Ao later.
After all, she was the person who would exchange rings with Eli in a wedding ceremony!
“Second Prince,” Su Ning suddenly stopped walking.
“What’s wrong?” Eli also stopped.
Su Ning looked into his light brown eyes, smiled softly, and said, “Could you escort me home? I’m afraid Greene might be waiting for me on the way…”
Eli suddenly took her hand and gently kissed the back of her hand. He smiled warmly and said, “It would be my pleasure.”
