Kikori no Isekai Tan - Chapter 9
In the late afternoon at the Adventurers’ Guild.
Just as the adventurers who had ventured nearby were returning and exchanging their achievements for money, the receptionist saw “that.”
For a moment, she thought he was on the brink of death, given his battered appearance.
Though he staggered a bit, his steps were steady.
Recognizing the person as Kikori, whom she had sent off that morning, the receptionist was surprised but smiled slightly.
Her smile grew larger when she saw Kikori placed “that” on the counter after walking up to her.
“Three magic stones. You defeated goblins, didn’t you?”
“They were strong. It wouldn’t have been surprising if they had killed me.”
“That’s the nature of combat.”
The receptionist continued, “Even so, usually, beginners come proudly with one magic stone after defeating a single goblin. But three?”
“This is my… current limit.”
“Fufu. Even though I praised you for having so many, you are ashamed of having so few. I like that kind of attitude.”
Indeed, three goblin magic stones were a meager earning.
If a veteran had brought them, they would have been ridiculed for boasting about such a small haul.
However, Kikori, with barely any equipment and on his first attempt, brought three stones. This is a significant achievement.
“Well then, the purchase price for these magic stones is 3,000 yen.”
“3,000…”
“Does it seem low? But this is the fair purchase price.”
“No. Thank you.”
3,000 yen. With 1,000 yen being the cost for the cheapest inn, he could afford three days, but… Kikori still lacked too many essentials.
Too many, but… he didn’t have enough money to get them all.
“Um…”
“Yes, what is it?”
“Where should I go to get necessities?”
“Hmm, let’s see.”
After pondering for a moment, the receptionist pointed to the floor.
“This building also has a basement. Consignment goods are sold there. They’re a bit more expensive due to the handling fee, but the guild guarantees the product’s quality.”
“I see…”
Kikori understood that the guild would be responsible for any issues.
Well, it was inconvenient that the prices were higher, but it could be a good way to gauge the general price range.
“The shops themselves are in town, so you could directly go to the one you like and buy it.”
“Of course, those shops don’t have the Adventurers’ Guild’s guarantee,” she added.
Indeed, it would be up to the individual to decide which of the two options was better.
At that moment, Kikori couldn’t make such a decision.
“Thank you very much. I’ll check out the basement.”
“Alright, take care.”
After bowing to the receptionist who waved at him, Kikori descended the stairs to the basement.
