Summary
Misono Mayu. She was my classmate: intelligent, beautiful and very important to me. Now she’s sitting next to me, innocently laughing. In the living room, Mayu and I are watching TV together, showing a report of a kidnapping that happened in our peaceful town. In some way, kidnappings are even more heinous of a crime than murder. Murder ends when the person is dead, but kidnapping continues after the person is released. The life of a person who was kidnapped must continue after they are released. It is impossible to make amends. Being subjugated by what is normal, while no longer understanding it.
“By the way. Since we have time now, let me ask again. Why did you kidnap those kids, Maa-chan?”
