Looking Forward to Another World - Chapter 16
The sudden hush that fell over the bustling Guild hall seemed to reflect the weight and reputation of the Loki Familia. Riegel’s declaration of his affiliation brought a sense of recognition and respect from those around him.
After a brief pause, the clerk regained her composure and continued with the registration process, her demeanor slightly more attentive upon learning of Riegel’s association with such a prominent Familia.
“Very well, Mr. Brehaut, registered as a member of the Loki Familia. Please wait a moment while I finalize your documentation.” The clerk quickly typed into her device, finalizing the registration.
Once completed, she handed Riegel a small metal badge with the insignia of the Guild. “Here is your adventurer’s badge. It is proof of your registration and will be necessary for all your activities within the Guild and the Dungeon.”
Riegel accepted the badge, attaching it to his clothing. The emblem on the badge, a symbol of his new identity as an adventurer and member of the Loki Familia, was a source of quiet pride.
The clerk offered some final advice. “As a new member of the Guild, I recommend you familiarize yourself with our facilities and services. The Guild offers various support and resources for adventurers. Also, considering your Familia, I’m sure you’ll receive excellent guidance.”
“Thank you,” Riegel responded with a nod. He then stepped away from the counter, feeling a sense of officialdom in his new role. He was now a recognized adventurer, a part of a world he had only known through stories.
As he exited the Guild, the lively sounds of Orario filled the air. The city, with its myriad of adventurers, merchants, and citizens, was bustling with energy. Riegel, now officially part of this vibrant community, felt a new sense of purpose and anticipation for the adventures that lay ahead.
Riegel’s realization that he couldn’t afford Special Armament just yet wasn’t a cause for despair. It was a normal part of the adventurer’s journey, especially for someone at his level. The world of adventuring in Orario operated on levels and strengths, and he was just starting out.
Walking down the bustling Northwest Avenue, Riegel’s attention was drawn to the various shops catering to adventurers. The street was lined with stores selling a wide range of weapons, armor, potions, and unique items tailored for the needs of those who ventured into the Dungeon.
With his initial fund of ten thousand valis, Riegel knew he had to make smart choices. His priority was to find a weapon and armor that were affordable yet effective enough for his current level. He wasn’t looking for top-of-the-line gear but something practical that would serve him well as he gained experience and increased his strength.
As he strolled down the street, Riegel’s eyes scanned the displays, assessing the items for sale. He passed by shops with gleaming swords, sturdy shields, and various pieces of armor. Each item was tagged with a price, reminding him of the importance of budgeting his funds wisely.
Finally, Riegel found a shop that seemed to offer a good balance between quality and affordability. He stepped inside, greeted by the clanging sounds of metal and the warmth of a forge in the back. The shopkeeper, a burly man with a friendly demeanor, approached him.
“Welcome, young adventurer! Looking for something to start your journey in the Dungeon?” the shopkeeper asked.
“Yes,” Riegel replied. “I need a weapon and armor suitable for someone at my level, without exceeding my budget.”
“Ah, a wise approach! Let me show you some options that might suit your needs.” The shopkeeper led Riegel through the shop, presenting various items.
After some browsing, Riegel selected a sturdy yet lightweight sword and a set of basic leather armor. The items were not extravagant, but they were well-crafted and reliable. The shopkeeper offered a fair price, and Riegel paid, feeling satisfied with his purchases.
Equipped with his new gear, Riegel stepped out of the shop, feeling more prepared and confident. He knew these items were just the beginning of his journey, and as he grew stronger, he would upgrade his equipment accordingly.
For now, his next goal was to gain experience and improve his skills. The Dungeon awaited, and Riegel was eager to face its challenges. With a renewed sense of purpose, he headed towards his next destination, ready to embark on the path of an adventurer in Orario.
