Looking Forward to Another World - Chapter 17
Riegel’s realization that the lower-tier enemies of the Dungeon no longer provided the same level of challenge was a testament to his growth. His skill, strength, and new equipment had elevated him beyond the initial threats of the Dungeon’s upper levels.
“Time to delve deeper,” Riegel thought to himself, a spark of excitement igniting within him. The Dungeon was vast, and he knew that deeper levels would offer greater challenges and stronger monsters.
As he ventured further into the Dungeon, the atmosphere changed. The air grew colder, the corridors darker, and the monsters more formidable. Riegel relished the challenge. Each encounter tested his abilities and forced him to adapt and improve.
He found himself relying more on his agility and dexterity, skills that had grown significantly since his last venture. The light sword was perfect for quick, precise strikes, while the short-sword provided a reliable secondary option.
Riegel’s movement through the Dungeon was fluid, almost dance-like. He ducked, dodged, and weaved through enemy attacks, responding with swift counterattacks. His new leather armor proved its worth, offering protection without hindering his movements.
The thrill of battle, the satisfaction of overcoming stronger foes, and the anticipation of unknown dangers ahead fueled Riegel’s determination. He was no longer just surviving in the Dungeon; he was thriving, growing stronger with each step.
In the midst of battle, Riegel felt a profound sense of purpose. This was the life he had chosen, the path of an adventurer in Orario. Each enemy defeated, each challenge overcome, brought him closer to becoming the person he aspired to be.
As he delved deeper into the Dungeon, each level conquered was a testament to his progress, a symbol of his journey from a mere survivor to a formidable adventurer. Riegel Brehaut was not just another name in the Guild’s records; he was a rising star in the world of Orario, a world of endless possibilities and untold adventures.
Riegel’s ascent through the Dungeon’s levels, a stark contrast to his initial struggles, was a clear sign of his rapid growth. The once formidable Kobolds and Goblins were now easily dispatched, posing little challenge to his enhanced abilities. His movements were swift and precise, his attacks lethal. The thrill of battle, once an exhilarating rush, now seemed diminished against these lesser foes.
Unsatisfied, Riegel plunged deeper, surpassing the fourth floor to approach the fifth. The upper levels of the Dungeon, once a test of his limits, now felt too tame for his burgeoning skills. His dexterity and agility, having reached the G-stage, made him more than equipped for these levels.
Yet, the idea of a “safe expedition” held no appeal to Riegel. His drive wasn’t for safety, but for challenge, for pushing his limits. He sought the thrill of conquest, the adrenaline of facing dire threats, and the satisfaction of overcoming them.
This was no reckless pursuit of danger for its own sake. It was a calculated risk, a test of his capabilities, and a step towards his ultimate goal of mastering the Dungeon. Riegel didn’t just want to survive in this world; he wanted to excel, to carve his own path in the annals of Orario.
With a resolute step, he ventured towards the entrance of the fifth floor. Every encounter, every battle in the deeper levels, would be a testament to his growth, a chance to refine his skills further.
That night, when darkness enveloped the city of Orario, Riegel made his way back to Twilight Manor, adhering to Loki’s directive. His time in the Dungeon may have been cut short, but the experiences gained were invaluable. He knew that with each foray into the Dungeon’s depths, he was becoming a force to be reckoned with, a rising star in the world of adventurers.
After returning to Twilight Manor, Riegel promptly took a shower and changed into fresh clothes before heading straight to Loki’s divine room. His purpose was clear: to update his Ability Values. Perhaps because of his compliance with Loki’s directives, she seemed quite pleased and readily agreed to assist him with the update.

Observing the impressive growth in Riegel’s Ability Values post-update, Loki couldn’t help but twitch her lips in amazement. “An overall increase of more than 800 in proficiency…?” This growth was even more substantial than the day before, leaving Loki somewhat bewildered by the unprecedented pace of Riegel’s advancement.
“You…” Loki was tempted to inquire about Riegel’s activities in the Dungeon, but then thought better of it. Intuitively, she knew that probing too deeply might only serve to infuriate her, as she suspected Riegel had undertaken risky endeavors.
Indeed, if Loki had been aware that Riegel ventured not just to the fifth but down to the seventh floor, she would have been beyond irate. Opting for a peaceful night, she wisely steered the conversation to a different topic.
“Given your rate of growth, it won’t be long before you’re on par with some of the veterans who have struggled for years at Lv.1,” Loki commented, her tone tinged with a hint of marvel. Riegel’s progress in just two days was something most adventurers couldn’t achieve in years.
“You might even break the record for the fastest ascent to Lv.2,” Loki added, acknowledging the exceptional nature of Riegel’s achievements.
“Hopefully,” Riegel responded, his mind seemingly preoccupied as he dressed and reviewed the translated Ability Values. Loki’s casual remark about his remarkable growth didn’t seem to lighten his mood.
“Why do you look so troubled?” Loki asked, half-jokingly. “Don’t tell me you’re unsatisfied with your growth rate. If you start boasting about it, I might have to get physical.”
“Having a god use the term ‘humblebrag’ is quite the shock,” Riegel replied with a touch of irony, before addressing his actual concern. “I’ve been pondering over my Magic Power.”
Loki understood immediately. “Are you bothered that your Magic Power hasn’t increased at all while the rest of your abilities have?”
“Yes,” Riegel confirmed. “It feels like a waste, considering the gains in my other abilities.”
“I get it,” Loki empathized. “With your extraordinary rate of growth, it does seem like a missed opportunity not to enhance your Magic Power as well.”
Magic Power, unlike other Basic Abilities, governs the strength and efficacy of magic. It’s a crucial aspect for mages who rely heavily on magic for victory and survival, making it a distinct and vital attribute compared to physical abilities like Strength or Agility.
