Peerless Spoiled Consort: Evil Emperor, Very Arrogant - Chapter 2
Wu Lan’s granddaughter, infamous for her excessive pampering within the Wu Palace. She was arrogant, haughty, and unreasonable, viewing everyone, even royalty, as insignificant beings.
Wu Lan shared a deep-rooted history with the Kingdom’s founding Emperor, sworn as heavenly brothers in their oath. When the Azure Dragon Kingdom was established, the founding Emperor personally bestowed upon Li Shen the grand title of ‘Wu Lan,’ elevating his power almost to that of royalty.
…
In the entire kingdom, the Wu Palace was among the most revered places, and even the current Emperor showed them respect. Wu Lan had two sons, but his extreme doting on his granddaughter, Li Wan, had reached its peak. When she developed an interest in the Third Prince, Wu Lan pressured the Emperor into arranging a betrothal between the Third Prince and his granddaughter.
However, this haughty woman now lay in a pitiful state, her body battered and broken. Were it not for Wan’s soul, she would have been nothing more than a lifeless body abandoned in the wilderness.
[Both legs fractured, three broken ribs on the left side, dislocated right wrist… Surviving a fall from such a height, this body is a miracle.]
Another voice emerged within Li Wan’s body, that of the familiar little black cat that had been her companion for over a decade, surprisingly inhabiting the same body.
“Still alive,” Li Wan murmured as she lay on the rocks, her face devoid of pain, as if physical agony meant nothing to her.
[Congratulations, Mistress, you’ve narrowly escaped death once again.] Black smoke oozed from Li Wan’s chest and condensed into a petite black cat, striding by her side.
Though she survived the calamity, she remained on the brink of death.
Her strength gradually waned as she trembled in the relentless downpour soaking her body.
She urgently needed shelter to avoid further drops in her body temperature. Fortunately, a cave lay beneath the nearby low cliffs.
With sheer determination, she dragged herself toward the cave, relying solely on her hands and the will to survive.
Her tattered clothes clung to her battered frame, soaked in sweat and drenched by the unrelenting rain. Crimson blood trailed from the leg wounds, washed away by the torrential downpour as the small, crawling figure pressed on. The little black cat nudged her occasionally, offering encouragement as they approached the cave.
Though the distance wasn’t great, her injuries, combined with the rugged terrain, turned the journey into an enduring ordeal.
After mustering every ounce of strength within her frail body, she finally reached the dark cave, her face pallid and lifeless.
Huddled against the cave’s cold walls, sheltered from the rain’s onslaught, she released a sigh of relief. Suddenly, an eerie voice echoed from the depths of the cave.
[Who’s there?]
The black cat’s voice quivered with fear as it arched its back and positioned itself protectively in front of Wan.
“Go check it out,” Wan croaked, aware of her predicament. Alone in this environment without medical equipment, she couldn’t tend to her injuries. She had to explore other possibilities.
Having someone else around to assist her would be ideal.
Leading the way, the little black cat cautiously approached the source of the sound. In the darkness, Wan sensed the presence of another person.
“You’re near death,” a masculine voice, tinged with a hint of amusement, came from above her head.
