The plane descended slowly and landed on the runway at Longcheng Airport.
Qing Mu, Li Ling’er, and Tian Mi disembarked from the plane and took an airport shuttle to the terminal.
“Miss Ling’er.”
As soon as they entered the terminal, someone appeared to greet them.
Li Ling’er greeted the person warmly, “Uncle Hu, it’s you who came to pick us up.”
Uncle Hu, dressed in a sharp, well-fitted suit, with a strong and well-built physique, and a buzz cut, appeared to be a professional who could handle himself well in a fight.
He forced a slight smile on his stern face and said, “Miss Ling’er, Mr. Li was concerned about your safety, so he sent me to pick you up along with your friends.”
Tian Mi whispered to Qing Mu, who was standing beside her, “Qing Mu, he’s Mr. Li’s personal bodyguard, named Uncle Hu. He used to be a mercenary and later retired after getting injured. He’s been working as Mr. Li’s bodyguard ever since, and Mr. Li trusts him the most. He’s quite formidable.”
“Got it,” Qing Mu nodded without saying much.
He could feel a strong sense of ruthlessness and lethality emanating from Uncle Hu. It indicated that he had taken many lives, making him a formidable individual.
After exchanging a few polite words, Qing Mu, Li Ling’er, and Tian Mi followed Uncle Hu out of the airport, heading towards Li Ling’er’s home.
Li Ling’er’s residence was in a renowned affluent area in the eastern part of Longcheng. Those who lived here were either wealthy or influential figures.
As they entered the estate called Qingtan, Qing Mu was greeted by the sight of a five-story mansion that resembled a castle. Even Qing Mu couldn’t help but exclaim, “Wow, Li Ling’er, your home is enormous! It’s like a castle.”
Li Ling’er joyfully explained to Qing Mu, “The original buildings here were different. After my dad bought this place, he demolished all the existing structures and built this new mansion from the ground up. This is what you see now. Every blade of grass, every brick, and every tile here carries my dad’s dedication. He’s very satisfied with the design of this building and loves it.”
Purchasing a property, clearing the land, and constructing a new building from scratch was an operation that required a substantial amount of wealth. Qing Mu couldn’t help but think that having money was indeed advantageous.
As they arrived at the mansion, Qing Mu was still in awe. “I swear, Li Ling’er, your family’s house is incredible. It’s like a palace!”
Before they could disembark from the vehicle, Qing Mu’s phone rang. It was a call from Lin Qianqian.
“Another call today? She’s more concerned about me than my mom,” Qing Mu thought to himself as he answered the call.
“Lin Qianqian, I’ve just received a new toy. Instead of testing its power, why are you calling me?”
“Qing Mu, where are you right now?”
On the other end of the phone, Lin Qianqian sounded somewhat anxious.
Qing Mu quipped, “You’re calling me again, and you even asked where I am. You seem to be more worried about me than usual.”
However, Lin Qianqian’s tone was serious as she replied, “Qing Mu, according to the location data, your phone shows that you’re not in Yan Cheng but in Longcheng.”
In order to prevent Qing Mu from causing trouble in Longcheng and creating a commotion, Lin Qianqian had hastily made this phone call to find out what Qing Mu was up to.
Qing Mu had a good idea of the purpose behind the call. He replied, “I’m in Longcheng. Li Ling’er said her dad wanted to meet me, so I came to Longcheng with her to hang out. Are you calling just to inquire about my whereabouts?”
“Li Ling’er’s dad wants to meet you? What does he want to meet you for? Are you close to them?”
“It doesn’t seem to have anything to do with you, right? Do you have to interfere in my personal relationships so extensively?”
“No, it’s just…”
Lin Qianqian hesitated for a moment but couldn’t come up with a suitable excuse. She couldn’t admit that Yancheng Defense Base had been monitoring Qing Mu all this time.
Qing Mu was a powerful individual, and Lin Zhendong had mixed feelings about him. On one hand, having Qing Mu’s help made Yancheng safer, and they had the ability to combat powerful monsters. On the other hand, Qing Mu’s power was uncontrollable. If he had any intentions or wanted to do something extraordinary, Yancheng Defense Base had no way to control him. They were at his mercy.
As a result, there were always people at Yancheng Defense Base monitoring Qing Mu 24/7 and tracking his movements.
“Alright, if there’s nothing else, I’ll hang up. We’re here.”
“Click…”.
Qing Mu hung up without giving Lin Qianqian a chance to explain.
Lin Qianqian, on the other end of the phone, held her mobile phone with a helpless expression. There was nothing she could do. Yancheng Defense Base was monitoring Qing Mu around the clock. They couldn’t really restrict his normal activities, could they?
Li Ling’er, who was beside him, overheard Qing Mu’s conversation with Lin Qianqian and asked curiously, “Is it because Yancheng Defense Base doesn’t trust you, so Lin Qianqian called to find out your whereabouts?”
“Yeah,” Qing Mu responded with a simple acknowledgment but didn’t say much. Being constantly monitored by someone made him feel somewhat uncomfortable. However, unless he completely abandoned all electronic devices, it was impossible to completely avoid Yancheng Defense Base’s surveillance in this digital age.
Uncle Hu, who was driving, had a slight change in expression upon hearing the words “Yancheng Defense Base.” Nevertheless, he didn’t say a word and continued to drive the car.
The car came to a stop in front of the mansion’s entrance.
Servants came to open the car doors, and the group got out of the car.
“Mr. Li has been waiting for you in the study for a while. We can go straight there,” said Uncle Hu.
Guided by Uncle Hu, the group arrived at the study and finally met Li Ling’er’s father, Li Mingwei.
“Dad! I missed you so much!” Li Ling’er exclaimed as she ran over to embrace her father’s shoulder.
“Sweetie, it’s been a few days since I’ve seen you, and I missed you too,” replied Li Mingwei. Despite his imposing appearance, his stern demeanor melted into warmth and kindness when he saw his daughter.
After the father and daughter exchanged greetings, Li Ling’er introduced Qing Mu to her father. “Dad, let me introduce you to my new friend from Yancheng, Qing Mu. He’s the one who told me everything about Agito, and he’s also a very skilled Kamen Rider.”
“Hello, Mr. Li,” Qing Mu said with a nonchalant nod, neither overly flattering nor overly distant.
“You’re Qing Mu?” Li Mingwei’s smile gradually faded, and he fixed Qing Mu with an intense gaze. “Hmph, you look quite talented, but I didn’t expect you to do something like this. Tell me, what’s your ulterior motive? Why did you deceive Ling’er with all that nonsense? Are you trying to manipulate her?”
“???” Qing Mu looked genuinely puzzled, with a few large question marks figuratively hovering over his head. “What did I lie to her about?”
Li Mingwei’s expression turned stern as he accused, “All that talk about bloodlines of gods, Agito’s power, Lord, and divine beings—wasn’t that all deception to gain her trust? Using such absurd stories to deceive Ling’er’s trust. You’ve got some nerve! Speak up! What’s your real intention?”
Although Li Mingwei claimed to believe Li Ling’er’s words, in reality, he believed none of it. He thought that either Li Ling’er had lost her mind or someone had brainwashed her. Calling her back from Yancheng was his way of giving Qing Mu, this swindler, a stern lesson to keep him away from Li Ling’er. He wanted to ensure that his daughter wouldn’t be continuously deceived by Qing Mu, potentially leading to unforeseen consequences.
“Dad, Qing Mu didn’t lie to me. Everything I told you is true! If it weren’t for Qing Mu helping us and saving me last time, Tian Mi and I might have been killed by those two Lords! Why won’t you believe me?” Li Ling’er was exasperated, feeling frustrated that her father didn’t trust her.
Li Ling’er had come back primarily because she thought her father wanted her to perform a Kamen Rider transformation over the phone. If she had known the real reason, she would have simply called her father and transform to Kamen Rider from afar.
It wasn’t supposed to escalate like this.
“Ling’er, these swindlers have all sorts of tricks up their sleeves. You’re young and naive, easily fooled. My eyes aren’t blind. What black gods, white gods, yellow gods, green gods… these are just stories that only young people like you would believe! Hmph, today I’m going to expose this swindler!” Li Mingwei remained adamant that Qing Mu was a scammer and refused to listen to Li Ling’er’s explanations.
Qing Mu decided not to waste his breath on Li Mingwei. Since he was already convinced that Qing Mu was a fraud, anything Qing Mu said would be futile. He turned to Tian Mi and said, “Tian Mi, transform and show him (abdh), actions speak louder than words.”
“Okay,” Tian Mi replied. She was completely impressed by Qing Mu and followed his instructions obediently.
Qing Mu asked her to transform, and she immediately summoned her AlteRing.
“Swoosh!”
A dazzling golden light burst forth, blinding Li Mingwei’s eyes.
“Ah! My eyes! So bright! It hurts!”
Li Mingwei was momentarily blinded by the intense light, and he couldn’t keep his eyes open. He instinctively covered his eyes with his hands.
After a few seconds, the light subsided, and his eyes felt a bit more comfortable. He slowly removed his hands and saw that Tian Mi had disappeared, replaced by a figure in blue armor with an unusual appearance.
Li Mingwei stood there in shock, like a statue frozen in place, not moving at all.
Tian Mi explained, “Mr. Li, this is what we look like after transforming into Agito. Now Ling’er can also assume this form, possessing powers beyond those of humans.”
Li Mingwei, still in disbelief, turned stiffly to look at Li Ling’er. “Ling’er, you… can you really transform like this? You’re not joking with Daddy, are you?”
“Li Ling’er, why don’t you transform as well and let your father see what you look like after transforming? I think that should convince him,” Qing Mu suggested.
“Dad, I really can transform,” Li Ling’er replied, and she proceeded to summon her AlteRing and transform.
“Ah! My eyes!”
For the second time, Li Mingwei was blinded by his own daughter’s bright transformation. Being subjected to two consecutive flashes of light, he couldn’t help but wonder what he had done wrong to deserve this punishment.
When his vision finally cleared again, his sweet and obedient daughter had disappeared.
The armored figure that appeared before Li Mingwei was identical to Tian Mi, with only a slight difference in color. Everything else was exactly the same.
“Is that you, Ling’er?” Li Mingwei asked tentatively.
“Yes, Dad, it’s me. This is what I look like after transforming into Agito,” the armored figure responded with a voice identical to Li Ling’er’s.
After witnessing it twice with his own eyes, Li Mingwei finally started to believe that his daughter seemed to be a super warrior with powers beyond ordinary humans, possessing the bloodline of the gods.
The truth was just too overwhelming for him.
Li Mingwei’s heart couldn’t handle it, and he suddenly fainted.
“Dad! Dad! What’s wrong? Dad!” Li Ling’er was startled by her father’s reaction and rushed to his side, calling out desperately.
Uncle Hu hurriedly approached and checked Li Mingwei’s condition. After a brief examination, he breathed a sigh of relief.
“He’s fine, Miss Ling’er. Mr. Li just fainted, and he’ll be okay after a short rest. I think the revelation was too overwhelming for him to handle,” Uncle Hu explained.
Business matters, no matter how significant, would not cause Li Mingwei to panic. However, this situation was different. It involved Li Mingwei’s most beloved daughter suddenly discovering that she wasn’t an ordinary human but a descendant with divine powers.
Any father would find it difficult to accept.
Knowing that her father had only fainted due to the shock, Li Ling’er felt relieved.
If she had truly frightened her father to death, she would have been devastated.
Tian Mi, puzzled, asked Qing Mu, “Qing Mu, do we really look that scary when we transform? I think we look quite nice, not ugly at all. Those Lords, on the other hand, look really ugly and fierce.”
Qing Mu shook his head. “It’s not about how you look. I think it’s the shock of this revelation that he couldn’t immediately accept. Perhaps Uncle Hu has never encountered anything like this before, and since it involves his daughter, it made him react this way.”
Tian Mi suddenly understood Li Mingwei’s feelings. She realized that Li Ling’er’s decision not to tell her father earlier had been the right one. If he had known earlier, and Li Ling’er couldn’t explain it properly, he might have had a breakdown. Now, at least they had clarified the situation, making it easier for everyone to feel reassured.
With Li Mingwei having fainted, the group decided to move him to the bedroom, where he could rest for a while.
After placing Li Mingwei in a comfortable position, Qing Mu turned his attention to Uncle Hu and asked, “Uncle Hu, you don’t seem too surprised about the Kamen Rider matter. Can you tell us more about your encounter with this Kamen Rider Blood Demon?”
Uncle Hu’s face showed a hint of reminiscence, and he began to recount his past experiences to the group:
“It happened many years ago when I and my comrades were on a mission in the Black Mountain Nation. Unexpectedly, on our way, we encountered someone wearing strange armor.”
“This person claimed to be a Kamen Rider.”
“Later, we got into a conflict with that Kamen Rider.”
“The end result was a complete massacre.”
“Our entire squad of over thirty people was annihilated by that Kamen Rider single-handedly.”
“I was lucky to escape with my life but suffered severe injuries and was left with some disabilities. However, the others didn’t make it. They all perished at the hands of that Kamen Rider.”
“The memory of that Kamen Rider, who was seemingly invulnerable and impervious to even bullets, remains vivid in my mind. It was something beyond human capabilities.”
“Until now, I still remember that Kamen Rider, who referred to himself as Kamen Rider Blood Demon, as a terrifying entity.”
Listening to Uncle Hu’s account, Qing Mu, Li Ling’er, and Tian Mi all began to sympathize with him. Even the weakest Kamen Rider would be a formidable opponent, and facing one with only human abilities would be suicidal.
Qing Mu asked further, “Uncle Hu, do you remember what this Kamen Rider Blood Demon looked like? Any details about his appearance?”
The name “Blood Demon” piqued Qing Mu’s interest, suggesting that the Kamen Rider was likely a powerful adversary. If there was an opportunity, he would consider obtaining and analyzing the Kamen Rider card of Blood Demon.
