The General's Wife Just Wants To Farm!!!! - Chapter 3
Yuo Ling woke up to her whole body in excruciating pain. It was as though she had been run over by a truck.
No, the pain was worse. It felt like she had just finished one of the rigorous trainings her grandfather had put her through. Yuo Ling felt sore all over.
“Ahhh,” Yuo Ling groaned in pain as she tried to get off the mud floor that was still caked in dried blood. Yuo Ling reached out to clutch her side where her ribs were located. Yuo Ling sighed lightly and said to herself in a low tone, “They must be broken.”
Yuo Ling tried to drag her already beaten and bruised body off the cold floor as she groaned in pain. Yuo Ling gritted her teeth tightly and stated, “When I see that fat bitch again, I will make her know why I’m called the Assassination King.”
Just as she was about to complete her mission of getting off the bloodied floor, she heard the old door of the dilapidated room creak open slightly. Yuo Ling’s heart started racing rapidly.
That meant the ugly woman was back to kill her and she didn’t have the energy or the ability to protect herself. What could she do now?
“Mother,” a small shy little voice called out gently.
Yuo Ling sighed in relief after she realized that it was only a small child. Yuo Ling used the last of her strength to heave herself off the cold floor and lean as gently as she possibly could against the nearby wall.
Suddenly a realization hit her. Who was the child calling?
As far as she was aware, she was the only one in this room. The child had just called out ‘mother’ right. She must have not heard well. The child might have been calling someone else who was in a room nearby.
“Mother,” the small voice came again, only this time it was nearer. Yuo Ling looked up to see a malnourished face, darkened and muddy skin, and messy tangled hair that looked an ugly shade of brown. Wasn’t this the child she had almost died protecting?
Yuo Ling was relieved to see that the child did not have any visible injuries and was alright. The child’s big eyes, made even larger by its severely malnourished figure, were looking intensely at Yuo Ling as if to determine whether she was really okay. Yuo Ling still couldn’t tell whether it was a boy or a girl. Yuo Ling looked at the child with worry.
“Where is your mother?” Yuo Ling asked weakly.
“You should go back home so that your parents don’t worry.” Just as Yuo Ling had finished that statement, the child’s eyes started watering up and large beads of tears fell down the malnourished face as the child looked at Yuo Ling in disbelief.
Yuo Ling started panicking. What did she do wrong? Did she say something wrong or hurtful that perhaps made the child cry? Was the child an orphan with no home to return to? It didn’t matter. Yuo Ling had already decided there and then that she was going to take care of the child if they were an orphan.
Tears continuously streamed down the child’s face while asking, “Mother, do you really not remember me? It’s all this daughter’s fault for failing to protect mother.”
The child said the last statement crying softly while clutching tightly onto the corner of Yuo Ling’s skirt. Yuo Ling looked shocked and surprised at the child’s statement.
What was happening? Where was she? This had to be some kind of sick joke set up by Xing Yue to torment. Yuo Ling tightened her fist in anger. She was going to find a way of healing herself and kill that conniving green tea bitch for everything that she had put her through.
