“This school’s curriculum is too intense. The students have all lost their smiles. I need to reform their lessons.”
Dekan was busy moving between rows of magical equipment, carrying a toolbox in his hand containing various commonly used tools for magical engineering.
Although the shapes of these tools have a strong otherworldly style, they are generally usable.
He borrowed all of these tools from the classrooms that Baron Bacher had attacked previously.
Cornelia followed him, occasionally helping him carry heavy objects.
The two of them were currently in the school’s broadcasting room, where they had piled the demon bodies to one side and were diligently “repairing” the equipment in the school’s broadcasting room.
Of course, they didn’t kill these demons themselves.
They were slaughtered by Baron Bacher in his previous state of madness.
If it were the two of them, they wouldn’t let the demons die so easily and would squeeze their remaining value.
Dekan chose the rooms that Baron Bacher had attacked carefully.
He first targeted the Demon Workshop, followed by the broadcasting room.
After Bacher had destroyed these two rooms, Dekan had him move on to destroy a third, but less important classroom nearby.
Once Baron Bacher had completed his mission, Dekan and Cornelia immediately ransacked those rooms.
Then they brought the materials and tools they needed to the broadcasting room, enough to make the modifications to the broadcasting room that Dekan wanted.
The one thing in this school that was undoubtedly affecting their happy campus life the most was the director patrolling the corridors.
When they had encountered the director before, Cornelia was very certain that she was no match for him, with no chance of resistance.
According to their speculation, teachers like Baron Bacher were probably around fifth-tier in terms of power, while the director, an elite staff member, was likely sixth-tier.
Dekan and Cornelia would have a hard time taking on the director.
Of course, they had no reason to challenge him in the first place.
After all, he didn’t drop any loot.
He didn’t even give exploration progress points!
A complete waste of an elite monster!
However, the director had one weakness—
He could only attack students during class! Once the class bell rang, he would cease pursuing the students no matter what.
So, as long as Dekan could control the broadcasting room and have control over the class bell, the director couldn’t threaten them anymore.
“Cornelia, help me unlock this.”
Dekan seemed to be having a little trouble.
He made way for Cornelia, gesturing for her to help open a small cabinet in front of him.
“Sure.”
Cornelia hurried over to the cabinet, grabbed the lock on top, and with a loud metallic snap, unlocked it.
“Your lock-picking technique, no matter how many times I see them, is so cool.”
Dekan finally managed to utter it out.
“Right.”
Cornelia agreed with him.
After all, lock-picking was one of her specialties.
It was much better than those scouts’ lock picking skills.
“But we still need to be careful. Otherwise, we’ll be constantly monitored by the Royal Capital’s law enforcement after we return.”
Dekan said.
He was grateful that Cornelia was his teammate.
If he had a feud with someone who could instantly pick locks like this, it would be quite scary.
He wouldn’t have a peaceful night’s sleep for a while.
…
It took our engineer, Dekan, and his assistant, Cornelia, an hour and a half to finally finish modifying the broadcasting room.
Now they sat leisurely in front of the broadcasting room’s control panel, with a pile of demon bodies behind them.
Like two bandits who’ve hijacked the control centre.
Not only could they control the broadcasting room’s class bell and dismissal bell, but they could also modify the music content or broadcast messages to the entire school.
After wasting so much time, Dekan was mainly interested in making a magic ring that could be carried around and control the radio room remotely.
Even if they left the room, they could make the class bell and dismissal bell ring as needed.
After all, if they turned off the class bell directly, there would be too many demon students in the hallway, which would be troublesome.
And if the director returned to the school, he would notice the situation and come to change it.
So, if they didn’t encounter the director, Dekan tried not to modify the class times too much.
“Come to think of it, my authority now is pretty much the same as the principal’s, isn’t it?”
Dekan mumbled to himself.
“I feel like you’re the acting principal now.”
Cornelia nodded in agreement.
“This school is getting more and more exciting. I can’t wait to go swimming in the principal’s office.”
After working in the broadcasting room for half a day, Dekan was getting tired, but the thought of it made him feel energised again.
“When we go back to the cooking classroom, let’s get some ice drinks and snacks.”
Cornelia was also looking forward to it.
“I hope the principal’s office has beach lounges. If not, we can look for regular lounges in other classrooms.”
“Sounds good. Oh yeah, where do we get swimsuits?”
“That’s easy. We can modify our school uniforms. You can turn your uniform top into a tank top, and I can turn mine into a beach jacket. We can cut our pants into shorts. That way, we don’t have to keep changing clothes.”
Dekan picked up a pair of scissors borrowed from the Demon Workshop.
After all, the current set of demon academy uniforms on their bodies was a gift from the Shadow World, and they could modify it as they pleased.
“You’re really a genius!”
Cornelia realized that Dekan was a one in ten thousand Alchemy Institute talent.
He was skilled in modifying magical devices, repairing equipment, and sewing.
Cornelia even felt that Dekan could make magic cards.
Although she had never seen Dekan make cards and hadn’t asked him about it, she could sense from the inhumane card skills that the card maker was likely someone very similar to Dekan.
The odds are that it’s Dekan himself.
“…”
Dekan seemed to sense that Cornelia was thinking about something impolite.
But he didn’t say anything because he was nice.
He cleared his throat and said, “After raiding a few more rooms, we can prepare for the pool party…”
Just as he finished speaking, Dekan furrowed his brows.
“What’s wrong?”
Cornelia asked.
“One of the challengers has been exposed.”
Dekan had been checking the mission progress when he noticed that the third mission had changed.
[Mission 3: No more than 3 imposters have been recognised. Current number of imposters is 5/6]
“What a headache. Now we have one less teammate, and our workload just increased again.”
Dekan pinched his brow.
He just wanted to enjoy the pool party in the principal’s office.
That’s all.
He didn’t want to work overtime for his teammates in this Shadow World.

T/N
It’s been a journey, and I’m sorry to say that I will be dropping this novel. This will be the last chapter I am doing for this novel.
I recently realised that another group of translators called Hosted Novel were doing the same novel as I, and they’re better at this than I am.
They’re faster and have more accurate translations than I and they’re way ahead of my current progress.
Nobody wins if we have a fight and honestly it would be better for me (and everyone) to translate another novel no one’s doing/dropped.
So, I’m sorry. I won’t stop translating, but I’m taking a temporary hiatus.
See ya later,
Scherzo.
