When I lost my memory, beautiful girls kept coming forward one after another, saying, 'I am your girlfriend,' but among them, there was one who had pushed me down - Chapter 3
“Then I’ll head back to school for my club activities.”
“Huh? Aren’t you going to help me with my dilemma?”
“Are you asking me to go to a boy’s room? Since when did Shido become so forward?”
“N-No, that’s not what I meant! I’m just worried about being alone.”
Seeing me flustered, Maya chuckled.
“Just kidding. I’ve been to Shido’s room many times. But today, I can’t stay because I have a meeting. I’m sorry.”
“I see. Alright then. Thanks for taking me here.”
I said goodbye to Maya and entered the room. The room was as stylish as the exterior, with several pieces of antique furniture. It felt oddly familiar yet also like I was in a stranger’s room.
“But this has turned into quite a mess…”
I’d been pushed by someone, lost my memory, and suddenly, two beautiful girls claimed to be my girlfriend. This was undoubtedly the most eventful day of my life.
“Toujou and Aoyama… one of them must be lying.”
However, both of them had sincere expressions, and I couldn’t believe either of them was lying.
“But wait…”
Then, I realized something outrageous.
“Could it be… I was two-timing?”
I didn’t want to even imagine it, but in a world where the male-to-female ratio was 1:160 and I seemed to be popular, it wasn’t an impossible scenario. If it were to be discovered, it would make sense that Toujou or Aoyama pushed me.
“Seriously… what should I do?”
I slumped onto the sofa in despair. Suddenly, my eyes landed on a bookshelf where there was a diary.
“A diary! Maybe I can figure out the situation by reading this!”
Good job, past me! I mentally gave myself a thumbs up as I flipped through the diary.
The diary began with my arrival on this island for the entrance ceremony. It seemed I hadn’t been informed that it was an all-girls’ school, and I had expressed confusion.
It looked like I had hit it off with Maya from the very first day. There were entries about us exploring the island together on the first day.
On the second day, the names Toujou and Aoyama appeared in the diary. There were also mentions of other names I didn’t recognize.
“Hey, wait!”
I exclaimed in frustration. The diary ended after just one week. I really wanted to give a piece of my mind to my past self.
It was currently early September, the start of the second semester, so I had no information about the crucial matters. I hadn’t been dating either Toujou or Aoyama during that one-week period. All I knew was that Maya and I had been getting along really well.
“Isn’t there anything else I can use as a clue?”
I tried opening notebooks and searching through the desk drawers, but I couldn’t find anything that would reveal my life during the first semester or trigger my memories.
“Oh, right. I should check my smartphone.”
If I checked my smartphone, I might find message exchanges or photos that would tell me if I was dating Toujou or Aoyama. I reached into my pocket and took out my phone.
“Enter the PIN.”
I stared at the prompt.
“I can’t remember.”
Seriously, what was the PIN!? Why didn’t I use fingerprint or face recognition? At least with a swipe pattern, my fingers might remember it!
This meant I couldn’t even use my smartphone, let alone investigate my past.
I tried entering my birthday and student ID just in case, but of course, it didn’t unlock, only raising suspicion.
“This is a problem… huh?”
Suddenly, I felt someone’s gaze and looked at the window, but there was no one there.
“Am I just imagining things?”
I opened the window to check, but still, there was no one. Even though it was the first floor, the apartment had some privacy with shrubbery and such. It wasn’t designed for random passersby to peek inside.
“Could it be this?”
I looked at the poster of a soccer player hanging on the wall. I liked soccer, and I was a fan of a club called SCC Napoli. The poster featured my favorite players like Osimhen, Koulibaly, Lozano, Zielinski, Di Lorenzo, and others.
I gathered myself and continued searching the room for any clues to unlock my smartphone. Well, I didn’t expect to find the PIN written down somewhere, but I had to try.
“What is this?”
I found a small cardboard box and opened it.
“Whoa…”
Inside were countless love letters, all addressed to me. They weren’t letters I had written but rather ones sent to me. And there were more than just one or two senders.
“Isn’t this almost like fan mail for an idol?”
I probably felt guilty about throwing them away, which is why I kept them.
I checked to see if there were any letters from Toujou or Aoyama.
“To my dearest Shido-kun,
I’ve thought you were my destined one since the first time I saw you. Before I knew it, my gaze was always searching for you.”
“Shido-kun, with love ♥️,
I love you so much. Please go out with me. If you do, I’ll do anything for you right away. What do I mean by anything?
Well, that’s a surprise for after we start dating ♥️.”
“My beloved Shido-sama,
Every night, you appear at the foot of my dreams. Just last night, you appeared unexpectedly, toying with my heart and even my body.”
“I can’t read this at all!”
I blushed, feeling like I was eavesdropping on someone else’s love letters, even though they were addressed to me.
“Do I have to spend another two and a half years on this island?”
Buried under those cute envelopes, I was engulfed in despair.
